In this video I show you How To Make The Hybrid TV Antenna. This hybrid TV antenna is a half Ultimate TV antenna and a half Gray Hover-man TV antenna. I show you from start to finish. I show how to solder the whiskers and hook the Hybrid TV antenna up to a TV and demonstrate how good it works from 60 miles away.

Danny, I put one of your hybrid tv antenna’s up in my attic here in Texas and got 91 channels over the air here in the Ft. Worth area. No lie! I had one of the hybrid antennas on my roof but the birds were roosting on it and living large! Anyway thanks for the information and instruction on building these! No more cable or satellite for me! I also build and sell your ultimate antennas and this hybrid does give it a run for the money!

I built an antenna that is a combo UHF bow tie Antenna Mr Hodges showed us how to make with 2 pairs of ultimate antenna 10 inch whiskers. it works very well for mos tstations in the big city I live in I might have to add boosters to get the weaker ones.Mr hodges thanks for your Antenna building info IT WORKS VERY WELL.

Danny does it really make such a difference using a plastic backbone instead of an aluminum backbone ??? This hybrid antenna kinda looks like a fractal antenna sorta. How well does this perform fella ??? Drop a line too.

Danny; Thanks for the great & entertaining videos. I’m guessing there are separate advantages to the Hoverman & bowtie/whiskers style antennas, which is why you chose to combine them in this hybrid. What are your thoughts on mounting the two style antennas, one in back of the other? I think I saw in another video where you have them side by side but I’m interested in just the overall footprint of one. Thanks in advance for thoughts & wisdom.

This the one I made (except it's actually hat shaped on the hat), and I like that a good 'ol boy is giving it! It makes it easier for the normal gentry to follow...easy to understand...just like Jed Clampett used to explain things, nice and simple especially for us Yankees (we gouge ourselves with wire, too...trust me on this one). I have the hat connected with plastic pieces, insulated with tape, as you showed on one video. I found to get one of our toughest channels, though, I had to "twist" it where the hat and other piece come together, and the channel comes in strong and perfect now. I just twist them all about a quarter turn, keeping the quarter inch spacing, of course. I found that by accident yard-testing it, playing around a bit. Shit works great, Bubba! Yor a genius!

Hey Danny, Nice video. I've been experimenting with the Gray-Hoverman for a couple years and also added the hats and whiskers. The last change I made was replacing the center whiskers with a Folded Dipole loop antenna. It really helped clear up a few questionable channels. I'm picking up channels from 60 miles away, with the antenna inside my house.

Being an antenna builder myself, I have to ask if you were able to measure the signal strength between the hybrid antenna and the Gray Hoverman. For myself, I have always had better results with the Gray Hoverman than I have with the bowtie design, resulting in stronger UHF reception. Not once have I ever considered trying a hybrid between the two designs. Well done, sir. The question is, is your UHF stronger with the hybrid?

I am building your antennas and I testify they work great!
