Danny, Thanks for sharing this video ! I've built a couple of your antenna's and I've searched out other KZbinrs video's and done searches on Google for DIY antenna's. Danny - you are # 1 from all my researching has found, ain't nobody else doing what you do. I stay on the look out for new video's you put on. I enjoy every one of them ! I have had some problems getting good signal after it rains hard here. I saw your advice on sealing up the Balun and I did that to mine after you pt that video on. My balun was water logged. I still have problems when it rains though for a while until it dry's out. I'm wondering if my I need to seal up the open ends of the PVC pipe now ? Maybe water is shorting out inside the short pieces of PVC where the screws go in to hold down the wire ?

What rf channel is the one that was breaking up? Imo the vhf section of the antenna should be completely horizontal. I'd really like to know what difference if any you'd get out of this hawk antenna with heavier wire. Thank you I enjoyed this one

I've made my own yagi, by just perusing one video. I ended up squaring some of the dimensions, put my own little touch on it. I was quite surprised at receiving 87 channels. My first time out. I also omitted a few things, did some things not as professional-looking, I was wondering if I just got lucky. Or is it my knowledge of wavelengths? I would think both. But who the h needs to have multiple channels of the same things. What's the distance between Philadelphia and New York City? I get New York easily. That's pretty cool though. Thank you God for providing us with KZbin and Google

Would stacking four of these wires on top of each other 90 degrees apart increase the signal strength and increase gain Danny ?? Peace

I am going to make one like yours with a reflector. Just a single. I am about 60 miles from one station and 35 miles from another. If I turn it around, I am 65 miles from Shreveport, La. across a lake. That ought to make a good ground plane.

Hey Danny, ever heard of a microvolt meter, such as the Sadleco VHF/UHF, it will tell you precisely the DB of the antenna that your testing, and you can use it to do comparisons between antennas and for improving the gain on all of your antennas, you have good videos I like them.

Hi Danny, I recently cut the Comcast cable and started using those cheap, flat, stick on the window type antennas. =Not great reception on about 10 channels...when it wants to. I love to make things but I'm not sure what gauge copper wire, never saw that square PVC before, the rest I think I could figure out. Did I mention my 64th Birthday is coming up soon? (just in case you send out Birthday gifts to strange old ladies ;) ) I'm enjoying your videos, good luck with all you do!

Do I need copper wire or can I use the metal clothes hanger wire?
@traceyhobbs83316 жыл бұрын
I would use what Danny uses, cooper wire for best results.

Danny, how wide is the gap where the Stealth Hawk attaches to the mast? What diameter pvc do you use, and do you add additional spacers? Do you attach with epoxy, or use screws and washers. Thanks for sharing...appreciate all your helpful info.

Alot of great info here, I've been using a Gray hoverman for about three years but it's just thrown together and I want to build a new one, how to rate the Gray hoverman to the ultimate antenna?

Excellent vid, Danny! (The thought hit me: How much warranty do you sell with an antenna? Cause exposed to sun wind and rain EVERY ANTENNA shorts out. Not "if" it's "WHEN." Have seen some quality, high dollar jobs not last a year... =Promise a quality picture, but not forever.)

Danny, thanks for every one of your fantastic videos. I'm in a tough reception area but I know eventually I'm going to succeed in pulling in more than the 4 lousy stations I currently can get. I'm going to try building one of those hybrids . Do you think lathe screening would make a good reflector?or do you think the holes are spaced too close together? I have to put it in the attic.
@DannySHodges7 жыл бұрын
the attic is killing ya..the screen should be allriht

Considering the guys at solid signal (an actual ham radio antenna company) made and designed this one and tested it against all the. Little whisker and bow tie type antennas I know it outperforms your antenna.

Danny I saw a video today and this man was making the 4 bay antenna but he didn't follow the recipe. I don't know where he got his dimensions from maybe just from out of his head. I don't think he had a clue what the outcome from his antenna would do. You know there some things that don't matter and there some things that do. He thought the outcome was good but just think what it could have been if he would have followed the recipe. Like baking a cake you can make like you want and hope it turns out or you can go by the recipe. Some people say this ain't science but it is 😂

Gary hoverman antenna and the Screen bow tie antenna are about the same gain. Most videos showing the Gary Hoverman antenna builds forget the hats on each end. The part that's not connected. But Danny Hodges videos are correct.
