SPAM is the default meat for Hawaiians. During WW 2 meat was hard to find so SPAM sales soared. Hormel website has about 35 different versions of SPAM.

When WW 2 ended suddenly in the Pacific the GI'S left Hawaii suddenly. Spam wouldn't spoil in the tropical climate. The warehouse were full of Spam so inevitably became a food staple.

I'm a 25% less sodium SPAM gal. I never eat it straight out of the can. Yes, I'm from Hawaii.😂 If you can't fry your SPAM first, add to Cup of Noodle to at least warm it up when you pour in your hot water. I want to go to the SPAM museum in Minnesota, I believe that's where it is located. Thanks for testing out the Turkey SPAM. I would never have thought it would taste like tuna. .

6:27 If you have a sharp and sturdy pointy object, you can punch a hole in the bottom of the can to allow air in. This works for all sorts of canned products, not just SPAM. Don't use a knife unless you don't mind it getting dull. What ever you use wash it. You get food residue on it in the process.

Next week after I receive my allowance from my wife, I’m going to sneak over to the market and buy one of the Korean made cans. Not expecting any thing great tasting, but nobody knows. Thanks for another fun video Danny!!! Next time you visit Arizona let me know and I take you to our local gun club and we’ll shoot some sporting clays. It’s really a blast!!!

Regular spam is very popular in Hawaii. Nothing better than getting a plate lunch that has a slice of spam in it. Turkey spam sounds like turkey bacon, and the reviews of turkey bacon are not good. Another youtube channel suggests boiling spam slices in water for several minutes to really reduce the salt content, and then fry.

@@dannythemedic well yes. You are paying for the convenience of being able to warm up your food in an entirely disposable manner. OK, how about this: put the spam in a study Ziploc bag. Put the bag in hot water in the kettle. That will warm up the spam, in roughly a similar fashion as how the MRE works.

Danny... turns out I'm born & raised a Minnesotan (and a local to Hormel) ... living in Vegas for decades... I gave up red meat in the 90's - not a religious reason. I simply gave up eating mammals. My choice. Having grown up on SPAM... to my surprise Hormel makes Turkey SPAM (and Turkey Pepperoni!!! - can't give up Pizza... right?). How does it taste? To me it's the same. After all what is SPAM? It's seasoning and your year's worth of salt... hahaha... not that that it's a good thing. For me Turkey SPAM tastes like regular SPAM... Yes... sodium... a year's worth in one setting! Of course can I remember original SPAM taste? Been a long time. Take care!
