Have some experience with Motel 6. They are certainly basic, but for the price, they will suffice if just passing thru on low budget, extended road trip (as long as they are clean). In the last 5 years however, they have become State vouchered temp housing for homeless, parolees and welfare families. In Laramie WY, I watched one family bring in 4 pet crates of howling cats and all night was waken by high speed trains blasting their whistles for the intersections. Didn't even know the track was up on the berm. Ahhh, memories.

Your videos are laugh out lout funny and I can so relate. My sis and I traveled to Philly several years ago. She picked this cheap hotel/motel to stay in and I told her it has got to be a dump, but her cheap self (and she had $$$) insisted it would be fine. It was so bad the guy checking us in said "you don't want to stay here" but she still insisted. I think it was a rent by the hour motel. We ended up pushing the chair against the door and slept, or trued to sleep, with our purses under our pillows.

😯 My cheapest stay was at America’s Best Value in Syracuse NY for $29.99/night & that was better than this Motel 6 you gotten. Smart to take all your stuff inside. Hope you had a good sleep at least🤞

Sorry for your misfortune with the room. My sister was impressed with your Motel 6 room. She stayed in one in Sacramento and just kept saying how nice your room looked compared to what she stayed in. We agree with leaving your shoes on. Maybe invest in some cheap flip flops (we call them slippers in Hawaii) and wear them even in nice hotels because you never know when a carpet has been cleaned (ie never).

Not a bad place as long as you keep your expectations reasonable, Lord knows when I was in college I stayed in worse places for Spring Break. Glad you had a decent meal, that at least takes some of the stress off of being in a bad room I hope.

Oh dear. You should have checked the bottom of the mattress for signs of bedbugs! Hopefully you'll not take hitchhikers into your next room. I don't stay in motels as a rule in large cities or ones with high crime rates. I feel so much safer in a room that is accessed through multiple locked doors or lobby entrances. Small towns that I'm familiar with - not an issue for me. I often go for the cheapest little dive in a little town I sometimes visit. Most of the little motels there have pools right up close to the main street so I can do some people watching while catching some rays. Your dinner looked yummy. I'm still trying to perfect my Pad Thai recipe so, for now, I still like to order it in when I'm craving something noodley.

You should consider a hotel loyalty program. Hilton and Marriott offer lounges in some of their hotels where they provide you with breakfast, bottled water, soda, snacks, and an evening meal(appetizer). With all your travel, you should be Hilton Diamond or Marriott Titanium. Lol...doesn't your employer give you a per diem for travel?

@@dannythemedic Status is only good if you stay at an expensive fancy hotel with a lounge. Towneplace, Fairfield, and Residence Inn don't have lounges. The lounge is invaluable for the free soda, snacks, breakfast and light dinner. You can buy your way to status by getting the expensive Marriott or Hilton credit cards. They are expensive with perks that make it a deal.

Never stayed at a motel 6 before but after watching your video I think I would not stay at one. Also it appears you passed on motel 6 tap water for warm soda. Judging from your review it was probably the right choice.

Yikes! I feel so bad for you Danny, that was not a good motel at all. I hope you are able to at least able get some sleep, and a shower before you move on to better accommodation. Thankfully you were able to get a really tasty and hot meal (although maybe too hot).Thank you for the informative video and the warning on where NOT to stay. LOL!! I don't know why you're stuck on hotels when you're traveling around and staying in cities for a few days. I would be using Airbnb. Now, hotels for me are a last resort, haha.
