I have only tried the chicken feet at a dim sum in downtown Honolulu that is known for their chicken feet. It was delicious and melted in your mouth with sauce that had umame flavor. I have yet to see it prepared that way. I wouldn't eat it either.

In dim sum restaurant the chicken feet are called Phoenix claws just to make it sound a bit better ...that chicken feet doesn't look like the normal chicken feet served in the dim sum restaurant style where they boil .. deep fried ....braised and then steam version .... Just looks like straight braised in a sauce and serve....

I never had chicken feet, it just doesn't seem appealing to me. Having said that, what was actually wrong with it that Steve wouldn't eat it? if the chicken foot is stewed long enough it can look like the one served to you two and still be tender. Most dim sum places fry them first and that is what makes them swell up more and appear the way you two are used to seeing them. It looks like Steve didn't try it based on the appearance and I think if he tried it he would have found it edible and tender

Not that long ago, dim sum items were like 4 to 5 dollars per item... in most places... . this place has really gone nuts with the pricing. I think you will do so much better to eat right across the street at Ping Pang Pong inside Gold Coast. Would you do a comparison of the two places?
