Classical music and rock/metal actually fit very well together when done properly. It's been done many times over with bands like Epica as well which use less classical instruments and more metal renditions of classical pieces. That said, most genres can actually complement each other when done well, the key part is doing it well lol.

I agree with you 100 percent. I believe that Camille Saint Saens would have been very pleased with this version of his opus. We tend to forget that music - all music - is open to interpretation. When the interpretation is correct, you get an outstanding piece that compliments the original. Some purists argue that one shouldn't tamper with a classic piece of work. I like to point out to people that Handel wrote several variations of "The Messiah" before his death, so it is not dishonoring the masters when someone else puts a proper spin on their works.

Now THAT is what I call a good cover of the Saint Saens Danse Macabre. To me I don't think the intro in the original is intense enough for the feelings in that piece. This takes the cake!

Man, this brings back memories! I played the solo violin in this one, as concert mistress in my senior high school orchestra in the spring concert in 1982. We'd been rehearsing it all year, and I'd worked on it with my private teacher (who coached me in the "theatrics" of the piece), until, by the end of the year, I could have played it in my sleep, blindfolded. Pretty much the most worthwhile thing I did senior year... :)

An excellent, interesting and suitably macabre rendition of La danse macabre, which to my mind captures the original intent of Camille Saint-Saens. I think that the choreography and the videography are very good. Excellent work by all, including the dancer! Bravo!

É duro e difícil. Nascí em uma familia pobre, e na época era impossível que alguém da minha classe social pudesse ter acesso a este tipo de música, o que só foi possível através de um pequeno aparelho que tinhamos em casa, a tv, onde assistia as produções de programações infantis de Walt Disney e de Walter Lantz, que se tornaram comuns nas manhãs durante os dias da semana e nestas produções os temas musicais eram Eruditos. Através dos meus amigos na adolescência conhecí o Rock em todas as suas modalidades e vivia tendo epifanias musicais pq compreendia as escalas musicais e dentro de tudo isso, quando escutava o Rock Metálico via nitidamente uma banda realizando o trabalho de uma Orquestra e vice-versa, e sonhava em assistir apresentações de classicos do Rock com instrumentos eruditos e classicos eruditos em instrumentos de Rock, o que foi possível após vários anos que se passaram, onde vi uma forma de compreensão musical realizada no mesmo meio de comunicação que eu tinha acesso quando criança, a tv. Se realmente existe uma herança da humanidade para uma possível pós-extinção esta herança serão o Rock, o Erudito e a hibridez destes gêneros. Apenas fantástico o trabalho de vcs.

I love this song. "Danse Macabre" was the first classical song I ever listened to, back in the school about 20 years ago. I tried to listen to another versions of this song, but I could never handle them. And here we are with this amazing perfomance... thank you for this. It suits properly the spirit of it.
