We are all human and yes, no one is perfect, but there was a consistent pattern with him. He was constantly doing things that led up to him being dropped by Maverick city music. His behavior shows that his heart was not any of the gospel, but for himself. We are all human, but if we are Christians, we must keep God standards. It would be one thing if he made a mistake, repented for it, and grew from it and became a better person, but that’s not what happened at all.

He's already on a pedestal. He has successfully used his gift to be most Grammy nominated so that means that he's a leader and has helped souls come to Christ. While he shouldn't be the soul source of a new believer coming to Christ, he's now a pillar in MANY folks life to the point we cared about his well-being. Once you realize how sensitive spiritual warfare really is it's not hard to see why folks are disappointed in his decision since he played such a big role in music this decade. That's an important thing to God bc, essentially, how can you bring them to the church from the club....then take them back to the club? It's confusion, to say the least.

I think Dante is a good guy. I found him on KZbin 2 years ago and thought he had an anointed voice. I just don't want him to get swept up in the tides and culture of this world. Sadly, this is the real Dante Bowe we’re seeing. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks, Luke 6:45. Just because he sang Christian songs, lead worship, and wrote Christian songs doesn’t mean that he is a Christian. Anyone can sing Christian music. It doesn’t mean they’re saved or did they have a relationship with Jesus Christ. sometimes artists use Christian music as a steppingstone to launch their secular career. Dante has always wanted to do solo music and look for ways to be successful. In 2021 after winning his first GMA dove award, he wrote a big long post about how if it hadn’t been for that award, he would’ve quit music all together. He joined Maverick city music, thinking that it would get him tons of recognition and accolades. When that didn’t happen, he did things to try to get out. The dove award he won was not for anything he did with Maverick, but for his first solo album joyful. From there, he proceeded to make history at the Grammys by getting the most nominations. I think it was 64, which is what he’s bragging about in the interview.

God has gifted Dante Bowe, and as fellow believers we need to pray for him, not criticize. “Judge not that you be not judged.” Matt. 7:1

Actually, he does need to be criticized as his actions and behavior are not appropriate if he’s calling himself a Christian. his actions and behavior do not align with God’s standards as outlined in scripture. As for praying for him the only prayers that should be praying for him are prayers that he repent of his wicked, evil, and sinful ways, and turn to Christ, and develop the relationship with him. He doesn’t need to be in the Christians space so long as he is serving the world and the devil. He cannot serve two masters. He’s either on the side of God or the side of the devil. He can’t sit at the table of the Lord and at the table of the devil. He can’t drink from the cup of the Lord and the cup of Satan. Is it possible that his calling has changed. For context, I was a journalist who wrote about faith and culture. Before that I was an ordained minister. When God led me to transition into secular journalism and writing about secular hip-hop. I lost a lot of followers. People made assumptions about my relationship with God. And I did go through a season of anger and being in my flesh from Christians not supporting me. We are called to judge and use discernment. He will not get any blessings so long as he is serving the world. God does not bless the wicked or the unrepentant sinner. God only blesses those who follow him faithfully and keep his commandments. The wicked will spend eternity in hell and will not be recipients of his blessings. So Dante doesn’t have any blessings from God.

No Christian artist is obligated to associate with him when he’s actively doing things that show that he is living a sinful lifestyle. He is not the victim in this. They didn’t make the reason for dropping him clear, but it had nothing to do with the bad bunny video and everything to do with him posting his nudes to his Instagram. This is 100% cause to cut ties with him. Any other Christian artist would have the right to cut ties with him for that too. Bethel Music also dropped him. In ministry you don’t do stuff like that. His contributions to Maverick city music don’t matter, because he lost all credibility when he posted those nudes.

It’s hard to forgive. He’s saying “I wish them well” which is a product of forgiveness, but also has to make barbs about how they did him dirty. Forgiveness is a process… sounds like his conduct detrimental to the group wasn’t so much getting caught up in scandals, but instead it was getting caught up in disagreements with the various members of the group. Sounds like Dante felt like he was bigger than the group. In many music groups, there’s always the guy who thinks he is bigger than the group. They end up going solo, and sometimes they do a really good job, and sometimes it never reaches the heights that the group did. Lots of egos in the music business, including the Christian music business. Sometimes we need to separate the art from the artist. Dante Bowe’s music can be used to worship, but the man behind it is flawed like all of us. I’ll be praying he does well as a solo guy, and also he can truly forgive maverick city music as they had forgiven him. Maverick city music has since moved on quite well. That’s what happens when you forgive.
