The movie ending was better when he begged for forgiveness and would rather be in hell than let Lucifer escape. This is literal deus ex machina

I honestly didn’t mind it either way since the game and movie stories are similar but different at the same time. But I still like the game ending story better since it fits better with the aspect of the game story being about their version of Dante redeeming himself for the sins he did while the movie kind of made him more human than the game, at least feat wise where he had to get God’s intervention to trap Lucifer in hell forever while owning up to his actions and how his place is rightfully where he belongs. I think for each version of the ending fits for the version of the story they belong to.

The game was rushed. EA forced Visceral Games to launch the game early to compete with God of War 3. They could have done better with more time.

I objectively agree. The air hit counter challenge in fraud was the worst thing I have ever done in an early EA game.

What happens when you absolve either or both the demons?

Rohan Zener when you absolve a soul, they are forgiven for their sins and are allowed to go to heaven. For demons, I think it just purifies them or instantly destroys them.

@@Alucard1884 Not really a surprise considering many Christians believe there is no actual redemption for Heylél/Lucifer/the Devil or the demons (rogue angels who sided with Heylél in the Heavenly War and were damned along with Heylél himself).

This is based on the poet Dante's Alighieri's "Divine Comedy" story. And in that interpretation, the final circle of Hell is freezing cold and dark to represent the coldness and darkness of Lucifer's heart. It's the circle of treachery, inhabited by the ultimate betrayer. Dante's interpretation of Hell is fascinating as each circle is distinct, rather than just one large lake of fire
