This game is a love letter. Is a recurring meme to call the ingame bugs/glitches "anomalies" or to see that the game doesnt tell you who are the bad or the good guys (Bandits, stalkers, soldiers, etc) cuz its a love letter to the old players who knows that a good day of scavenging is well paid and dranked on a campfire with a sausage in hand while a dude plays a guitar and another tells some dumb jokes about blind dogs and bloodsuckers. I feel right at home

I remember the first time I played Stalker Clear Sky, it hammered me several times before I got used to it, you know what I remember mostly about it was the technical side, entering buildings with no loading screens, standing in a doorway and watching the rainfall and none if it clipping through, incredible for a 2008 game.

Playing on Xbox, a problem everyone is having is the controller deadzone, which is dead zero. You can't walk straight and keep constantly turning with the slightest touch on the stick, giving a heavy sense of jittering, making it almost unplayable

The games has a lot of optimization issues ( stuttering, fps drop, crashes and heavy CPU usage which shouldn't be for a game like this ) and I'm playing it on RTX 4070 super with R7 7700x and 32GB ram which is more than good enough for 1440p gaming and I hope they fix all of it but performance aside the game is amazing the gameplay, the visuals and the horror atmosphere is top notch

Once i heard about 2 coming i bought the originals on Steam when i heard it was kinda like a fallout but spookier and i enjoyed them a lot Call of Pripyat was my favorite and 2 is all of them together and better

I'm pretty satisfied with this game. I expected all the technical problems that this game has, so it doesn't surprise me. What did surprise me, it's the size of the game map. It's freaking huge, and it's not procedurally generated. It's all handcrafted. For a game studio like this, it's something fantastical. The exploration, atmosphere, gunplay, and customization of your stuff are great. I only hope that technical issues will be solved as quickly as it possible. I already love this game. However, regular 10-15 fps freezes upsets me a bit. At least I've found a temporary solution by reloading the save. As a Ukrainian myself, it's such a pleasure to hear ukranian voice acting and localization. I didn't expect much from this game before the release (I actually started hating it because of lots of delays), but right now, it's totally my game of the year.

I feel like those who scream that game is "not optimized", completely skip the moment where map is huge, not procedurally generated and has very high-fidelity assets all across it. Though many locations in the game are from older games - most (aside of Cordon map) are mixed and placed in new locations. But all of these locations are so different, it's clear that even those that were ported from older games, have been updated significantly. It's just crazy how many games with big open worlds have just same basic places, locations, same assets across the land. If there were any repeated assets in Stalker 2, they are very minor or have at least some changes - like one house will be half-destroyed, other won't have roof and all like that - map feels completely handcrafted and that is insane!

GSC actually moved to Prague in 2022, but I don't want to say it's easy to go through war and relocation of most of the studio. Just correcting you at 0:45, nothing more.

I have 3070 Ti, the rest is a little above their recommended setup. I play on High Settings (recommended for my card) and I am having the same problem you had, small occasional stuttering. I can even play on Epic settings until I reach the village and it starts raining, then my frames just nearly stop. However, I can't really see the difference between High and Epic, to be honest. The game is so beautiful that I can almost smell that radioactive swamp.

6:30 reminds me exactly of my first Bloodsucker encounter in Agroprom Underground in Shadow of Chernobyl. Regarding the technical issues: wouldn't be a Stalker game without them :D Still hope they improve a bit on them. Very likely will get myself a copy for Xmas, cause tomorrow on it's Witcher 3 time again baby.

To those who've played Gamma or EFP, how does it compare to this? STALKER 2 looks great. Unfortunately I don't have a strong enough pc to run it.

To be honest, I think efp plays a bit better. But stalker 2 is definitely more true to the original series. If you played those then you know efp and anomaly are very different compared to the originals. I think a lot of people will be comparing stalker 2 to the anomaly mods and they will be disappointed because it's a completely different experience. It is still a great game and I'm excited to see what modders can do with this one.

Go back and start on the original games you won't be disappointed. By the time you finish them the new game will be patched and optimized.

If you have a 40 series GPU just get it period, it's fun and if you love stalker you'll love this period, people are blowing the technical issues out of proportion.

@ I have 6700 xt. Been thinking about buying it with my GPU upgrade. Planning to get 7800 xt or 7900 xt. Nvidia gpus are simply too expensive in europe. 1100 euros for 4080 is kinda insane.

Dude, you should ALSO try out the Metro series if you haven't already. It's made by ex-Stalker devs too and it's really good, the first two games are more of a linear story-focused, survival, hardcore shooter, but the 3rd game actually has open world and really feels like those STALKER games. Atmosphere is through the roof, especially in the first game.
