Horizon Forbidden West | Is it WORTH IT?

The long awaited sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn has finally released, and i've been playing the heck out of it. Horizon Forbidden West is a game that i've already spent almost 30 hours into - But the question remains; Was it time well spent & is it worth buying if you're thinking about doing so? Horizon Forbidden West continues the story of Aloy half a year later after the events of the Zero Dawn, a young huntress of the Nora tribe sent on a quest to a mysterious frontier spanning Utah to the Pacific coast to find the source of a mysterious plague that kills all it infects.
On her journey across the uncharted lands of the Forbidden West, she encounters hostile regions filled with natural threats and ravaged by massive storms, dangerous enemies and deadly machines, both new and old.
As Aloy attempts to explore the wider and deeper parts of the Forbidden West, she discovers a vast array of diverse environmental ecosystems, including lush valleys, dry deserts, snowy mountains, tropical beaches and ruined cities, both above and below the water.

Thanks for making such a great video! I started playing the first game (after attempting to get hooked after playing two times...) after the release of Forbidden West. Finally got hooked, not because of the story, but because of the combat and exploration system. I hope Forbidden West will be released on PC in the upcoming years because I freaking suck with controllers xd Keep up making the good vids!

Just a quick FYI! DO NOT buy the $70.00 version just for the PS5 version for when you get a PS5 or if you already have a PS5 just because it says you get a free upgrade to PS5 . Both versions have the free upgrade to PS5 if you don't have a PS5 yet. The only things you will miss out on are a few starter items that IMO are not worth the extra $10.00.

Me too, although there is still slight pain whenever I see some PS5 footage. The game was definitely meant for it. Still, it runs well enough on the vanilla PS4 I own. I do want a PS5, but only hoping I can get one when FFXVI releases.

@@aarons.2323 this game is without a doubt the best looking game on the ps5 rn. i’ve played a few games on the system like cyberpunk 2077, gt 7, Rider republic, etc. after playing those and this game i can definitely see that this game REALLY showcases what the ps5 can do.

Small bug fix patch went live this morning. I also experienced that odd hitching glitch, where the frame rate inexplicably tanks, on my PS4 Pro. Restarting the game fixed it for me as well, though I wasn't in a Cauldron at the time. Slightly annoying aspect of the 'bandit' encampments in Forbidden West is that they all seem to be wearing helmets so I can't clear them out with a series of stealth headshots any more.

Got to disagree with you on the "didn't have to play the last game" bit. I consider myself fairly knowledgeable on the HZD universe having tracked down most of the datapoints related to the main story and several key side quests and not only have I met several characters I never met in HZD over 2 playthroughs, I also tried to explain the "simple" version of the overarching plot of HZD to my friend who was watching me play. It made me realize just how complicated the story is and how much background info one needs to properly understand the context of each new story beat and character moment in HFW. Background info that HFW is sadly not great at delivering without sitting through significant amounts of exposition. Id at least encourage any new players to watch a video that goes through a complete retelling of the story of the first game or you're probably going to be completely lost.

I **LOVE** this game! Yes, I have a few bugs, but they were funny. Floating armors and hair, mostly and I've only fallen through the world twice. Once fast traveling and the second time going through a door during the main quest, I died and it fixed when it reloaded. The conversations are freaking hilarious! The SARCASM and the SASS is just great! XD Kid 1 "I won the race!" Kid 2 "Yeah, only because you threw a rock at my face!" Kid 1 "Well, you can't get any uglier"

Been watching a few videos on this game bc I’m curious as to whether I should get it or not because I love open world games, they’re my favourite type of game. However when you said the monsters are so hard to kill that really put me off. I cannot play games that are too hard, because to me it just becomes not enjoyable and I end up not wanting to play it, so if it’s too hard I really do not like it. So, if there is no way to make it easier I don’t know if I will like it, I don’t mind a bit of a challenge but if I die more than like twice in the same mission or fight or something I will lose my rag. So any advice on if it’s still worth it? Bare in mind I’ve never played the first one. I really like the look of it but if it’s too hard it’s a no from me.

I'm playing on hard and I can't recall the amount of times I thought I had a fight under control only to be one shot by a projectile and die miserably 😂. This time the machines are soo much tougher to beat.

I got hooked into the first one because of the story + visuals + gameplay. But when it comes to the second one...the story was a big let down for me, especially the ending. A flying AI through the space? Come on..I know that it's a game...but that was just a little bit too much for me. But the visuals are extra ordinary. Imo this is the most beautiful game that came out in the current console gen as of now. The game play is also great.

I love this game it’s got a great story awesome world to explore it has its faults but overall it’s something different and unique however unless there is going to be more updates with more content or DLC in the future I do think the price is a little high in this day in age for a single player only game
