Making a game like this and have no custom character is sad, you can hear how unexcited the devs sound and I can tell they f it up with the character development and game play style. We as a Star Wars community wanted a open world game and play as a bounty Hunter or outlaw like jango fett, not hire members for a stupid heist😅

so the main story revolves around hiring people for some big heist because "you can't do it yourself, you need a crew", meanwhile footage of her taking on an entire imperial base by herself😅... gonna be interesting to see how they make this "crew" essential in a way that doesn't seem contrived

Sad that we can't create our own character. It was a perfect opportunity to immerse ourselves in the Star Wars universe, choose how we look, our background, abilities, pet, ship, etc.

I honestly think no custom character is going to hurt the game. I know I have lost interest. That is one of the best things about open worlds is designing your character.

Yea... Pretty big draw back. My favorite games usually are big open worlds like that that let you play out a unique gameplay fantasy/role or what ever and allow you to design your own character and immerse yourself as that character... More replayability too when you tie your playstyle to the characters and roleplay it differently each different design. Instead we get this lazy single char telling their own probably not that special story that likely, if disneys starwars track record and the uglification of the main character is anything to go by, will have some strong women woke agenda spread into the story. yawn... Just hope the gameplay will be fun enough to make up for it. Seems very limited and lazy though. I mean, they don't even have different weapon and optional progression stuff depending on what exactly you want to do... They just have a basic complete quest get skill setup and extra weapons are just temporary pickups it seems. Still curious how useful a sniper rifle is if you have to go find it, pick it up and then backtrack a distance so you can actually snipe with it. Just seems like so many lazy design methods masked as prettily/fancy as possible so as to sell them to the audience like suckers...

This is the type of game people have wanted, imagining the obvious easy design choices to make it an amazing game experience. Say the ability to design your character however you want? Maybe as an alien species you found cool in the movies? Maybe as the gender you prefer male or female doesn't matter, can't even do the species in a game full of all these cool aliens... Then you don't even have in depth progression for different type of weapons, just a lazy single weapon setup... Why not give us the ability to also choose our outlaw profession or side hustles?? Like being a smuggler or maybe you prefer being a bounty hunter or doing either or on the side. Specializing and upgrading your equipment and vehicles for the task. Just so much awesome possibility but stuck as her telling a likely woke (Disney after all) shallow story just to avoid putting that much effort. Personally would have loved to play as a Rodian that specialized in a sniper rifle and bounty hunting and living out that fantasy in the star wars universe... We have waited so long for a game like this, it looks great, and though i prefer to play as a male character because i am a man, and every cool character in history is male (Never seen a cool girl character, all written bad and boring), i still don't hate kay, i just am a tad annoyed. Not wanting to play a girl character is fine, but beside that, i feel the rest of the game will be good. It's biggest con is the price and lack of customization

I'm gonna be honest, I really hope we can change her hair or at least wear a helmet. That was a big improvement from Fallen Order to Survivor for me, being able to have Cal look different based on personal preference. And I personally hate the way she looks, the hair just doesn't look good in game

At least you had the balls to ask if you can change her appearance as it really helped me decide to skip this game entirely. Though the price is a major red flag anyway. Saying we are stuck with a game where we can’t customise the main characters appearance is a false narrative as all they are doing is limiting the amount of sales by making her look like that. So are we stuck with it? No. This will be in the bargain bin in 3-4 months from release. I bet they will end up adding full facial customisation options post launch due to lack of sales. Every sane person is sick of woke bs especially from the AAA developers who just do it to virtue signal. Sadly they now believe you can’t have attractive people in games anymore as that is somehow offensive . Only to the insane it is.

At 5:00 that u-turn looked really bad...you should be able to pick your crew even if it's an option like 3-5 people that specialize in weapons then another 3-5 that specialize in heavy weapons...but you can only choose 1 in each specialty and a total of 8 crew members or something like that... would be cool if you can at least buy different ships and change weapons on it..also pick you load out on each crew member including yourself..change clothes on each crew member and yourself..I would hope it's a completely open world but if u can't do all the things above then what's the point of any open world

Ubisoft will add it post launch due to backlash when the game fails to sell I bet. Look how people reacted to just a bit of censorship in Stellar Blade and that has an attractive Android and other characters have rather cool looks too. Due to backlash they reinstated the censored clothing. Even Tombraider remastered got removed content. I would be just as worried how it runs though as so close to launch they wouldn’t allow anyone to see anything other than a hands off play of 3 missions. Have a look at MrMattyplays video.

What backlash? This game will be a start of a series like with the Jedi games from Respawn. And it will succeed seeing how we can finallý play a gta style game set in the star wars universe. There has NEVER been a game like that with that kind of ambition before and EA had the i.p. for well over a decade n made just 2 battleftonts and 2 jedi series. If only they pulled their finger out n did something to this scale we wouldve had a gta in space game so sooner. I think this game will do really well regardless of the preorder dramas or the possible microtransactions or whatever, players have been clamouring to hyperspace from one planet to the next for a LONG time.

Fixed crew members in a linear story. The reputation system unlocks better missions, but what are we doing them for? Is it just to make moving through the game easier? If we need cash, what are we spending it on? This isn't a game to play through several times? Isn't this just jedi: survivor with less depth and more world?

I feel like I didn’t care that much for character customization in the dark souls copy Star Wars game because it was mainly story driven game with little exploration and most levels were linear. It felt like I was following a plot and I didn’t mind the main character being pre made. But here, I feel like in an open world game, with side quests, you’re not telling this person’s story, because no two play throughs will be remotely similar, so why force the player to have a character they don’t enjoy. Sure there may be some people that don’t mind, but I feel like most people wanted to have their own outlaw and not some random idea of what someone else at Ubisoft likes. It’s not like were role playing a pivotal character in the franchise like Han Solo or something. If it was Han Solo and it was the same structure of a spider man game where we do a main mission, but we have the freedom to do whatever other Han Solo activity on the side, I WOULD BE FUCKINH SOLD, but no, just some random woman doing some random things with a tiny gun and some stupid creature that whimpers idk.

Just imagine if they just made it an open world sandbox... Say the ability to design your character however you want? Maybe as an alien species you found cool in the movies? I get that show and movies tropes do not equal stellar gameplay mechanics, don’t get me wrong. But there is rational for the one main weapon system mechanic. But lol some of you seem to not remember that Han Solo used his blaster almost exclusively. Chewbacca? One weapon. The Bad Batch? All used, one weapon. Captain Rex? One (two of the same) weapon. Each picked up different weapons along the way, but they generally used one blaster for their entire screen time experience.

You act like they couldn't have had a badass selection of different weapons for different playstyles and the ability to progress down a progression tree with them however you wish. Say you want to specialize in a single weapon like a blaster or sniper or maybe primarily in one and have a decent familiarity with the other. Would add more to the player expression, immersion, roleplay, diversity, and attachment to the character. How about why we cannot design our own character choosing species and gender options? Similar benefits... How about what type of outlaw you wanna be, like smuggler or a bounty hunter and have mission open world systems to act out that fantasy however you wish even after the story is complete? Just so many amazingly fun and replayable options just these couple of things would have added, even more if you has perks and talents. Instead a woke agenda story most likely if disney is anything to go by, and a bunch of shallow systems dressed as pretty as possible to sucker people in. T.T Absolutely wish they would make a open world starwars game like that, it would be such an easy sell/win...

While it would be super rad to have it in this era/setting, we do have that already. Star Wars The Old Republic (SWTOR) is literally exactly all that. To the T. Then you lost me at the woke stuff lol. Star Wars is for everyone. We've seen only a tiny, curated, human dominated part of the galaxy. Maybe this story is mid? Maybe it's good? A lot of the KZbinrs I've watched who have actually gone hands on with the preview shared that they felt it "got" Star Wars. I'm going in with an open mind for sure. I'm still not going to pre-order though.

​@@villainsstreet8550they've mentioned quite a bit in their interviews that theyre going for the whole 'Scoundrel Fantasy' vibe. Obviously Kay being a scrappy scoundrel wheeling and dealing with villianous scum as Obiwan refers to them as, it would be odd to play as someone whos just back n forthing with other criminal groups while carrying a shieet tonne of armoury in their lil black han solo vest. We had that with GTA V where we carried every type of gun on ourselves n RDR2 made it semi realistic where you keep all your weapons on your horse at all times. Plus with Kay's personality she's not the type to be carrying every weapon of all sorts on herself, she's no tank. Scoundrels blend in and not one to elicit any attention upon themselves. They have their blaster and their lovable sidekick. Whatever they find on the spot they'll improvise and gtf outta there.

It would be a very different playstyle if we had every rifle pistol grenade etc all onto our character considering Kay is not a gun ho shooting first n blow sheit up afterwards sorta character. Her being a Scoundrel it would be counter-intuitive to her character anyway as theyre not looking to murder slaughter and annihilate every person they see, try n see it this way: what you may lack in amount of weaponry youll have a much broader scope in gameplay thru the use of Nix and have many options to use via him.

@@nicktubara The thing is that scoundrel type gameplay with 1 single weapon is more suitable for adventure games no? But this is a open world game. Wouldnt you feel bored to play the game for 40 hours with 1 single weapon? And I don't think Nyx has much of an use apart from sneaking/stealth. A tons of previewer already said the game game out as super safe and nothing new in this game. I really wanted an engaging game with various weapons, skills and play styles. @@cryodann uh ive played a game where i was a jedi and my only weapon was a lightsaber, plus it's sequel when i wielded dual sabers, for more than 40 hrs I'm sure you heard of.....jedi academy 😛 In all seriousness i played as Cal Kestis where i only wielded lightsabers and most recently a blaster which is a nice change of playstyle, it was still both great games even though i had 1 weapon but the metroidvania style of gameplay really elevated it for me. So you think having just 1 weapon will suck for you, i personally would hope that in 2 mths there will be some last min improvements where they will allow the player to be equiped with not just 1 blaster but also a rifle as well. 2 weapons would be better than none.
