Julio Romeresto Yep, but there is something like 737-MAX ?. Did they go further into the design of the 737 or just marketing. Indeed, 737 is PROVEN airframe and reliability.They keep lowering fuel consumption and since its safe with tons of hours in the air, airlines will keep buying it I'd preefer flying a bit of a "dinosaur" design rather a high tech a with "compiste" everything Just look those DC-8, DC-10, MD-11. They just keep flying, and flying ... and flying. M-D haters would love that Cheers.

The current 737 looks like more of a composite airframe than the A320 (it isn't necessarily). Problems with the 737 go as follows. The original 737-100 seated around the 100 passengers. Do you think they ever imagined over stretching it to something with around 200 passenger capacity like the 900 which is my least favorite 737. The 900 sits way too low for its length which majorly raises the risk of tailstiking and makes it look dumb. The 800 even sits a little to low for its length, but the 700 and 600 can handle the low ground clearance. The 900 is also underpowered for its class with some pilots describing it as a pig for takeoff performance. It beats me why Boeing can make such a masterpiece like the 757 and call the 737-900ER the direct replacement for it even though it has inferior performance in every way other than fuel consumption. I guess it's the good enough adittude. Now I liked the original 737s, didn't like the classics, and find the current ones a breath of fresh air after the classics but I feel they should never have stretched the airframe farther than the 800. As for the cockpit, other than the LCD screens it is archaic. The rest of it is a 50 year old design and again some pilots complain about it. It will probably be a 70 year old design when it is finally fazed out. The trim wheel alone is a safety hazard if the handle is extended. Because of the nose shape, the cockpit isn't much wider than that of a CRJ and is much less comfortable than the A320 for that reason. The nose is the classic old Boeing design and while for some it is nostalgic, I think they should have used the 757s nose for the NG as it is said to be a more aerodynamic design, is quieter, and obviously more spacious since it would sport the more user friendly 757/767 cockpit. A little pet peeve of mine is the cable control backup. If it seriously was so much more reliable than a backup hydraulic system that you will never use why is it not standard on all Boeings, but they never use it anyway so it doesn't matter. The 737 should sit higher off the ground, should have switched to the 757 nose and cockpit for the NG, and if they really still wanted to make the 900, give it engines with at least 30,000 lbs of thrust each and give it more range. Had those things been done I would really like the plane. FYI I like to make fun of composite and call them plastic planes airframes so I'm not agains the old metal planes at all neither am I an Airbus or Boeing fanboy as I like them both equally. Sorry for the long comment.

The last time I left Frankfurt Airport was in April of 1986. I left with my 3 1/2 year old and while we were on the plane waiting for take off she says to me, "I will never get to see my Daddy again!" Of course I said to her don't say that we will see Daddy next month! On May 19th I received a call from my father-in-law telling me to get to their house as soon as possible. My husband had passed away:( That was the beginning of my nightmare! I wish I could take her back to visit!

Oh thats right. There is a dragster roller coaster at Cedar Point - it goes about 120 in 20 seconds, I speedtimed the plane taking off on flight simlulator and the plane only goes 120-160 in about 15 seconds.

But the design is the same 40-year-old design that's been featured on every single Boeing 747 since the original -100 series. That's why I am confused as to your comment. It suggests that there's something different on the -8 than on any other 747 model, which isn't the case.

Basically, it's called the 747-(8) 7(8)7 Thats my analysis, probably not the real reason its called 748, but it has the same engine basically except larger and also the cabin is not the same as the 787 but has gotten some designs based on the 787. Basically engines and wings from the dreamliner and you have a pretty nice new plane. Hope that helps!
