Now also in Cineteca they just opened a new rooftop :), where you can go from thursday to sunday and enjoying live concerts of jazz, rock, etc., and having a beer, a glass of wine or just spend a cool afternoon. You should back Dan. 😉

Even the commercial movie theaters in Mexico are better overall than the ones in the US. I went to one in California and it was overpriced compared to what we have in Mexico. The nachos and popcorn were not that good, the seats weren't as comfortable as the ones we have here. I don't know why the movie theater experience is so bad in the US.

You can see now, why in Mexico, there are great movie directors , in Mexico city exists two public universities which you can study to become in movie director, producer, screenplay, photography, so on. medium class and high class in Mexico love the culture, maybe Mexico isnt a leader in technology , but in art Mexico is a leader, there are great painters, writers, photographers , architects, musics, movie directors , dancers , handicraft workers. Also in Mexico exists "Espacio Escultorico" in UNAM and "Villa Olimpica" movie theaters to watch art movies, those are great options, too. Also is missing visit Centro Nacional de las Artes , to enjoy all kind of art shows like theater, classic music concerts, ballet ,modern dance and folk dance. In Espacio Escultorico in UNAM you can enjoy art shows too. Exists another options like Universidad de Claustro de Sor Juana to enjoy art or Centro Cultural Helenico in San Angel. There are even more options than these ones that I have said in this commentary, but these ones are great options. Good luck!

This has always been my favorite place in ALL of Mexico City. You also need to check out the museum, the library on film studies (for free) and the filmoteca segment where you can watch classic films on personal booths. Mexico loves cinema ever since it came here in 1896!

It was great you visited Cineteca Nacional, I wouldn't live without that amazing place in the city. I go there almost every week. It's a pity that in Canada, international cinema don't be promoted very much, I suppose you can only see foreign and non-Hollywood movies in a film festival. As a matter of fact, "Isle of Dogs" is the most viewed movie at Cineteca Nacional so far. I loved that movie, too.

Also the main idea is that most movies on Cineteca Nacional are supposed to be like art type, which is not comercial or AAA. Is great that next block is the division of Benito Juarez and Coyoacan so its like 10 minutes on feet to get on Coyoacan downtown, going first for a couple of beers and then to see a movie is a great combo.

Cineteca Nacional is the national film archive of Mexico, so it administrated by the government so that is why is so cheap and theaters are huge, confortable with great sound. I watched Roma there and I experienced 100% the magnificent sound design. Also in the Cineteca Nacional there exposition master class and course all related to cinema.

I’m so excited to see what are you gonna do next.. By the way Cíneteca it’s a composed word.. Cine from móvil es and teca from biblioteca (library) so its a movies library, , and it’s a very different concept, it’s not a comercial movie theatre ❤️🇲🇽👌🏼👌🏼👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻😎

Hey Great video bro! And also there’s something better... sometimes they played free movies in the green areas, actually you can get a kind of rug and just layed and enjoy the movie. Also they just opened a new terrace where you can enjoy live jazz and rock bands while taking a drink and wait for the movie.

I was born in mexico but never lived in mexico. I spend 3 months in mexico on summer vacation and one thing thats crazy is the T.V. they have japanese TV shows.dubed in spanish. They have asian movies, novelas from the middle east, movies from europe. Sitcoms from spain. And alot of u.s tv on top of the homebrew stuff. As far as pop culture goes its alot more globalized than in the u.s. in the u.s we take pride that everything we watch and listen to is only made here we dont really have much of a view of the world outside our country and for alot of us our own state. And even town.

Cineteca Nacional is á cultural space ,it is not the regular movie theater where you buy an expensive popcorn and watch 007 movies ,only to set up an example (if you want a regular Hollywood movies there are plenty of regular theaters around the city too) it is more focusing to Independent International or National movies in a College environment, so thank you for showing a different faces of entertainment in CDMX

Cineteca Nacional doesn't have to carry it's own weight, I believe it's present all over the country, in my city it's free and you can take your own drinks or food to enjoy the movies, but films shown are always cultural oriented, so sometimes they're going to be really weird, and you will definetly never be shown an avengers movie in there.
