Ryan, I think you mean documentation that JS used stone in hat method prior to using it for BOM. The 1826 trial record and Isaac Hale statement in E. D. Howe’s 1834 book come to mind.

Smith wrote THE BOOK OF MORMON for an early nineteenth century audience. Smith's book needs to remain in the nineteenth century.

How was Jo Smith able to fool so many people for so long? He had his own father digging random holes! I don’t understand his psychology at all.
