I usually grinded luck using the artifacts/chime which gave a butt ton of luck. Took a long time tho. Also to mention, there was low level pvp in chime. Nowadays all you see is max levels.

all the techs including movestacking in verse1 were incredibly enjoyable to pull off and a lot of people overrate how 'unbalanced' it was. You had to land two m1's in a row to get a flourish to begin with (with finishers ring) and with the old parrying cooldown that was difficult to pull off against any good player. Man the things I would do to get the verse 1 days back...

Verse one gank was eternal and its excruciating mantra stacking and flourishing is unavoidable since flourish interlock you meaning there wasn't a kick animation you simply play a cutscenes. Back then there was no vent once you're combo'ed you're done for but I relent because back then parry timing were bigger

verse 1 was peak pvp, the flourishing and the techs back then, there was no thing such as "true combos" the devs went and messed everything up now the game is like an anime battlegrounds it doesnt feel like a hardcore anymore but i just cant stop playing due to nostalgia and the remnants of verse 1 that are still ingame.

The current meta is honestly really good. There's a fair share of bullshit, but overall every attunement is viable and strong, allowing for a lot of build diversity.

@@ven5707 shadowcast and gale are the best attunements by a mile, gale can go spectre and hit you with a 2 bar true combo of 1 uppercut and for some reason spectre path wraths come out even if you parry the entire move so if you parry a astral wind "the best 3 star mantra in the game" you still get sent up so you can't punish, and 2 wraths come out for no reason and can still hit you for a half a bar. And shadowcast doesnt have a cooldown on fear so if you get hit by one tiny peice of a mantra you literally cannot move and it makes it easier to hit one of its 3 insta gbs one of which being shadow gun, the fastest gb in the fucking game along with the longest true stun move in the game being rising shadow giving you a free critical on almost any weapon, has the 2 best legendary weapons in the game for pvp and gets ghost for fucking free allowing you to have the other agility path that gives free extra dodge frames.

@@adojiro7988 All of what you said has valid counterplay. In what world are wraiths doing half a bat wtf??? Shadowgun is also not the fastest gb in the game. It's on par with the other attunement instant guard break mantras with a start up of 0.65 seconds. Either way, I did say there's a fair share of bullshit in the game, but that doesn't mean the other attunements aren't viable. You don't have to play a meta build to have success. You just need a functional build and a bit of skill. Anyway, skill issue.

i was around during verse 1, and pvp was hell ngl, BUT, i never had it worse than with verse 2 combat ngl, they gave up space for so many combos that deal insane damage, and removed the mechanic that made it so you would take less damage from consecutive attacks, making combos less efficient

It was common, 30-40 hp earrings much higher up gear overall. Enchants weren't common, but azure flames shattered were everywhere.

And that stuff got gutted post verse 2, there was also the comically large era and ice freezing for 10-15 seconds, things were much less balanced and lot as diverse as it is now. Layer 1 was nostalgic but is far worse than verse 2.

nah we arent. we didnt like verse 1 because there was a lack of content BUT the combat itself was good and fair and it was overall pretty balanced. verse 2 has a lot of slop content that isnt properly balanced or tested before release and the pvp metas are so unskilled and boring that me and every person i know wish we were back im verse 1

@@themistercj- parry trading was never infinite unless you're talking about the highest tier of pvp. daggers were annoying but they never did a bar per m1. 800 hp was only used by a few people in the early days of verse 1 before they gutted smelting.

Verse 1 PvP was skill vs skill since everyone ran the same build, and almost nobody anim hid, if u were better ud win. Now everyone running attunementless bloodthirsty fist and covering their animations with hats and ironsingers and making their entire character a vantablack shadow, ganking is dead with no hope of revival until conquest, the pvp fundamentals change every week, the second u even attempt to combo they js vent, and the god forsaken parry cooldown causing u to lose all ur health if u miss 1 parry

to be fair these were still issues in verse 1, high skill gameplay had an issue because everyone was parrying so perfectly and fights went on way too long. People would slide to hide anims, use big hats back then too. What verse 2 did to combat this was add block frames and reduce parry frames so that a late parry would be punished and thus making posture useful. The issue we now have is that arguably combat has become less skill based because now people will just learn 1 or 2 really strong true combos, run around and play cheese while waiting for their CDs. They fixed one issue and arguably created a worse one IMO. Deepwokens combat is now cheesier than ever it feels like ABA or sort of even like GPO but less infinite combo-ey

I've played a lot of games amd in almost all of them everyone says the game is trash and starts leaving, Its like ive been missing oit on the most amazing time ever but im having fun right now. Could it have been fun then? I would never know but it hurts for people to say that 'I missed out'. Fortnite for example. I started playing in chapter 2 and everyone talks about how amazing chapter 1 was. I couldnt afford a ps4 but i still had fun. I bought deepwoken in verse 1 but i coudlnt play it because my PC was too slow. I then got one just after the release of Ironsing and i was having so much fun. But everyone says Verse 1 is better. Is it really better when its fresh or is it better when you first start? Never got to experience the feeling of playing a game that just got released so i wouldnt know 🤷‍♂️
