Watching from NZ. The last time I visited Metro Manila was 10 years ago and there's a big change in the city with well-planned business centers in Taguig and the seaside area apart from Makati. Pasig riverfront area is also on-going for rehabilitation and building the Esplanade can attract more tourists too. I'm able to see some updates from my country just because of those travel vloggers like you. Awesome 👍

Hi Dany, I’m an American that spends most of my year here in Olongapo. I’m about 2 hours north of Manila in the town that was once a US naval base. I’ve been following your channel for a few years and love your travels. I will be down in Manila on Monday-Wednesday. James, if you haven't heard about it yet, BGC is the among the safest place to stay for foreigners. Stores, malls, sports, etc. is just a few minutes in and around the compound. More than a few expats said that $1,200 a month is enough to pay bills, food, extra curricular activities, vacations, etc. BGC is to the south from Manila. (PS Olongapo is where I joined the Navy, now living in California.)

Yeah , been in the Philippines last 3 days ago for 2 weeks vacation , it’s was very hot 🥵 glad I survive with yummy food and halo halo ,😂 See you again next year Philippines but not a summer time , maybe change it to month of Nov or December 😂

Dany's back! Welcome bro - glad to have you back! The mountains that you see from your window are part of the Sierra Madre range that runs through the whole eastern side of Luzon Island. Behind those is Quezon province and the Pacific ocean. Since you've been to the Visayan islands and Palawan last time you were here, you might like to explore the northern Luzon provinces, with the mountains and more beaches, or the Bicol region in the southeast end of Luzon this time. Quite interesting places. Cheers!

Welcome back. :) Wow, you're more pogi now ah. I hope you're still here right now Dany. You def. need to check out Tagaytay with its famous Taal Volcano in a lake. It's only 2+ hrs. from Manila. While there, go to Sky Ranch and Twin Lakes Hotel. 37:45 - Sierra Madre mountains. There are many beautiful places in that area too esp. in Rizal Province. (Tanay for example has lots of great mountain resorts too but less touristy than Tagaytay.) 41:40 - We tend to go salty because we mostly always eat dishes with rice. Wish you'd stay longer. Honestly, you don't even have to go to the Visayas. Here in Luzon alone, there are tons of places to visit. Here are just a few: South of Manila: BATANGAS - Camp Netanya Resort (Santorini-inspired); Verde Island Passage (called the 'Center of the Center of Marine Biodiversity' with the highest concentration of marine life in the world!) QUEZON PROVINCE - Villa Escudero Farm Resort (theme is old rural way of life in PH); Pahiyas Festival in Lucban (May 15) where houses are decorated with colorful rice leaves and produce. ALBAY - Mayon Volcano (Guiness World Record's most conical volcano.) CAMARINES - Caramoan Islands (shooting location of Survivor series); Calaguas Island (like Boracay but minus the coconut trees); Siruma (breathtaking lush landscape overlooking the ocean) North of Manila: BATAAN - Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar (a historic resort with 40 original Spanish-Filipino Colonial structures); Corregidor Island (see WWII coastal artilleries, fort ruins, war tunnels, etc.); Mount Samat Shrine of Valor PANGASINAN - Hundred Islands National Park (comprised of 123 islets, some with white sand beaches. One is Christ the Savior Pilgrimage Island with a 56 ft. statue of the Lord Jesus.); Patar Beach in Bolinao. ZAMBALES - do the Mt. Pinatubo Crater Lake Hike from Tarlac (must-do); Anawangin Cove and Nagsasa Cove (must-see); Lake Mapanuepe (New Zealand vibes); Capones, Potipot and Magalawa Islands with beautiful beaches. BAGUIO (our summer capital with lots of pine trees and cold weather). BANAUE RICE TERRACES, a UNESCO World Heritage Site - 8th Wonder of the World and the site they used for the Thanos ending scene in Avengers. (Note: go before the rice are harvested in April and the terraces are all green). SAGADA - Hanging Coffins of the native Igorots; meet 100+ yr. old tattoo artist Whang-Od (who's also the oldest Vogue cover model) ILOCOS - Vigan Heritage Village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site; Pagudpud Beach (do kite surfing) BATANES - the New Zealand or Scotland of the Philippines with its spectacular views. :)
