This song is a protest against censorship. Tipper Gore tried to ban musical lyrics back then. Danzig primarily influenced by Elvis and Jim Morrison.

The song is a response to Tipper Gore (V.P. Al Gore's wife) who wanted to tell people what kind of music their children could & couldn't listen to. (Look it up for more details).

If you wonder why it's Mother '93 it's because this song actually came out in 1989. They throw together a live video for MTV and suddenly, 4 years later, it becomes a "hit". I have followed Glenn Danzig since 1980, and this is his worst song. Oh and yes, he was muscular, but he was also about 5'5". lol
