A documentary was done on her a few years ago. Aparently she knew instantly knew the answer, but just wanted to pretend that she was guessing in order to make people believe she was a lucky contestent.

apparently Nicholas Parsons had a raging temper, if any of the contestants bought any of the prizes, he would go absolutly mad, my father went on Sale of the Century in 1984, and won a knitting machine, ..Nicolas Parsons had him beaten up in the carpark, my father ended up with a fractured skull, and a punctured lung. We had many happy ears making scarfs on that knitting machine though.

Daphne has been married twice. First to Bernard Hudson; then (after BH died) to Peter Fowler.
