I'm proud to say I'm going to a Dapper Festival Noir Style🥳 I'm dressing up as Fredi Washington's Klili Gordon from the 1936 film Ouanga which was a Voodoo-Themed film about a Mixed Black Woman in Haiti. This film to this day is considered one of the earliest Zombie Horror films in history and touched on topics of racism, the one-drop rule, and slavery in the mid-18th century. Sadly was banned across the United States during the mid-segregation era and was not publically acknowledged until 1966. Fredi Washington is one of my favorite icons since she was Mixed and she refused to pass off as white during that era. Dapper festivals are so cool and I'm excited to finally have an opportunity to go to one🖤👏🏼🥀
