Sitar and Veena are the two instruments that must have been smuggled from the heaven itself. The sound and beauty is surreal.
@catius92062 жыл бұрын
That's true, Rudra veena is the origin of every stringed instrument in the world both directly and indirectly.

@@catius9206 Did you just make that up because you like it? Lovely as Rudra Veena is, that is not even close to correct. Rudra Veena was developed in the 15th century. The oldest known stringed instruments are the Lyres of Ur dating back 4500 years. This took five minutes of research...facts: check em.

I live in Leicester UK for last fifty years. I swear by All Mighty Allah that I have never heard in my entire life any body playing more beautifully than this lady. She is no doubt a Princess of playing this instrument. May Allah give her a very long life and very good health to keep playing this very instrument. Bless her with best wishes......Asif Shah

@@catius9206 yes here is the recording - kzbin.info/www/bejne/ooSck56rrM6ihKs he definitely plays it better but that is expected I guess, there is a motif which roopa plays in this video which is almost identical to what Ustad Vilayat khan describes as his grandfathers composition, he says 'Dada ka ang' which I think mean grandfathers song? there is also another melody which he sings in the recording and roopa plays it at 4:38. She's from the same gharana I think. the ni sa re sa composition is heavily played in ustad ji's recording.
