As an American tourist in 2010 or so, a trip to Rock of Dunamase is a treasured memory and highlight of the trip.

Thank you for the great video of Dunamase. My wife and I stumbled upon the Rock when travelling from Dublin to Galway and it was an awesome find. No one else there and we imagined what it was like to live there looking over the valley below. I may be wrong, sorry if I am, but I thought I read that the land the castle sits on was given to an unwed daughter of a powerful father. She wanted to put a castle there and she put the word out for eligible men to build it for her and she would marry them. One fellow won the right to build it and before they were married, the young lady pushed him out a window to his death and she had the place to herself. I might have the story mixed up, or some of the facts, but that's what I remember.

John Ford was one of the greatest Western directors.....
