DARCHE 270 AWNING INSTALL | WHY I DECIDED TO SWAP OUT MY IRONMAN AWNING FOR DARCHE |

installed the darche 270 awning, it was a very easy quick process and the set up of the 270 awning was so easy compared to my 2.5m x2.5m iron Man awning that took 2 people to set up. the darche is easy for 1 person to set up as its a free standing awning, although it is still recommended to fold the poles down to give it support.

Yep gotta agree. That’s one super slick awning. Heaps of cover, quality canvas and built in legs that drop down to help stabilise it once tied down. Thanks for the vid as you have prompted me to go have a closer look at that one. Cheers 🍺

Always liked the idea of these but like with all awnings what's it like with the wind and rain. Canvas stretches over time and because of the overall size of that I also would be worried about the stretch and strength

So far I haven't really seen any reviews on them stretching over time but if I do find it stretching I'll post about it

Hi there, greeting from Indonesia. I also have the same type of Awning. The main issue when it's raining is water pool on the center and also the gap between roofrack and the awning house. Maybe you can share if you have a solutions for that.

We have the same awning and it's been mostly great. A couple of tips for you, Darche make long brackets for platform racks that reach the slot in the next panel, gives it much better support for rough roads. The cover leaks so you will have to dry the awning if it rains or you wash the car with it on. I've fitted quick release brackets so I can take it off easily between trips. I used RacksBrax, expensive but are great.There are other brands around as well. It should be a big improvement, enjoy Moreton.

Looks good! Definitely worth throwing some washers under those mounting nuts to help spread the load on the bracket and avoid them pulling through. 👍

Definatly put washers on those nuts mounted to your roof rack. I wouldn't be driving off without them on!

Hey, yeah I have read a lot of reviews that say water gets in a bit, but I haven't noticed any water get in. And especially with all the rain we've been getting I've checked it a few times and still haven't noticed any

Hey! Seen a few reviews of water getting in the darche 270 bag and having to set up and Air out after rain or washing your car….. have you had this issue at all??? Keep up the content!

I did open it up on day and a bit of water did come out of it, but apart from that one time it hasn't happened again. I have heard on a fb page u can buy a replacement bag I think that's better at keeping the water out. But for me it only happened once, I have heard other people say they get water in theirs

I only have a Darche 2.5 x 2.5 side awning. The quality is excellent. Do as you plan and put an extra bolt per attachments to your roof rack. More so for when you deploy the awning. That is a big sail if the wind picks up!

Yeah I've put more bolts in. I'm wanting to extend the bracket out to reach the 2nd rail of the roof rack so it's a lot more supported
