Darche Hi View 1800 Rooftop Tent

A roomy shelter that’s big enough for three, the Hi-View 1800 RTT gives you the opportunity to stargaze as you sleep out under the stars on your touring expeditions.
Suitable to use with a camper trailer or wagon, this extra wide RTT is made from seam-sealed 260sgm polyester/cotton ripstop canvas which makes it durable enough to withstand the harsh Aussie outback. It comes with features such as an adjustable tropical fly to help prevent condensation, a zippered stargazing window, built-in air vents for ventilation and a 65mm high-density open cell foam mattress for comfort.

So could you take the fly cover off all together? What about if it rain would it handle it? Cause if you only had the fly half way over the tent, it would flap like mad every time you get a a bit of wind. And you’ll have the cross member rubbing against the tent wouldn’t you? Cheers

You can take the flysheet off altogether, Alex, and it will provide protection in a very light shower, but prolonged or heavy rain will see water seep in through the skylight zippers. The cross member rubbing won't be a problem, and yes, if you leave the flysheet loose it will flap around but you can tuck one side back in underneath the other. I'd suggest that if there is a chance of rain, leave the flysheet on, if you want to stargaze and it's not raining, take the flysheet off. I hope that helps. ~ Ben

Snowys Outdoors thanks a lot. I have the 2200 hight view and was wondering how would I make it work. But that’s what I’ll do. Take it completely off if no rain predicted and leave it on if rain is out and about. Cheers again. Happy camping 🏕

We are currently only shipping within Australia, sorry Jon, and there are no plans in the pipeline to expand internationally. Rooftop tents would be a challenge for international shipping, we are still having problems with couriers within Australia delivering them without damage. ~ Ben

Can i get more info on setting up the ladder , when i have it on a perfect angle it doesnt lock in and ladder has too much play as u walk up it , cheers

I'm not 100% sure what you mean re: too much play as you walk up it. The ladder sets up exactly as in the video. It doesnt lock into any particular angle. You let the ladder down, and fully extend it, then just pop in on the ground. Depending on the type of ground you have there may be some movement in the ladder, but as long as you've fully extended it and its screwed securely to the tent base, you shouldnt have any issues. ~ Lauren
