This is actually a full continuation. Marvel confimed a while back that all Defenders shows are canon. So like: Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Punisher, and The Defenders are all canon.

It's a continuation but not a direct continuation. A lot has happened since season 3 and that will be acknowledged. This is not the season 4 we would've gotten which was a direct continuation to season 3. Lot of factors like the mcu and the 6 year gap in real time will factor in .... plus the snap also affected things everywhere. So this'll be intense but it's not the season 4 we would've gotten. I mean at the end of season 3 Kingpin is arrested and now in the season 4 pilot he's running for mayor .... there's more to watch beyond that defenders saga.

Bull's-eye's actor from daredevil season 3 is the blonde guy being led up the stairs in a quick shot , and kingpin has been mayor in the comics before , and the two people in the white costumes are a hero and villian , one of thems called the white tiger and is either the father or the current white tiger who is his daughter who was a main character in ultimate spiderman (i dont recommend the whole show tho long comment over lol)
