Great tutorial tthank you. What are the mechanics of the rig when the fish takes the bait and bolts. Hope that makes sense
@jamindbun Жыл бұрын
Exactly that. Because the hook link is short it doesn’t take long before the fish hits the lead. If you want to dump the lead on a take, then simply instead of going through the inline lead, have the mainline on the out side. You still need to use a tail rubber or witches hat. Thread this down the mainline and push on to the lead. Then pass the mainline over the lead and insert the swivel. You need to tie the hook link on the same side of the swivel as the mainline. Hope that makes sense 👍

Excellent thanks. Really useful video. I've got the gemini range of solid bag stems and tubing kit, but haven't used it yet. I'm glad you highlighted the loop/knot issue. I hadn't thought of that. Many thanks 🤪👍🐳

You can actually get the loop knot right down to the stem using this loop method shown here. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aqLReZh3bbunkNk

Hi scottymol, Thanks and much appreciated for sharing this method. This is a new to me and I’m very interested in trying this method. I would been keen to test the breaking strain properties of this loop/knot. Also how easy it will be to undo when pulled down.

@@jamindbun No problem. I fortunately stumbled across it moments before watching your video. The knot strength is a good point as it looks a bit untidy, as for untying it, I tried a few times with some messy results, maybe get better once you get used to it.?

@@Scottymol I have just done a very Heath Robinson BS test with a rig hooked to the end of my scales. The loop knot broke at 12lbs and the monofilament line was 15lbs. Quite impressive I thought! As you say it’s very messy and a bit like Pandora’s box trying to undo once pulled tight. I lost the will to continue and just cut it off 😂.

@@jamindbun Lol, that's unfortunate. Yeah probably much easier to just tie a new tried and tested knot every time. Oh well we tried.👍
