as i recover from long term child abuse, I find my behavior matching that of what I am told i was like at 3 years old. My mother is experiencing doubt, I in ignorance, and my father absorbed in delusion... Ohh what an obstacle life has made for us. My dad is more and more at risk because of the delusion plaguing his mind. I wonder if it will go away or if he's just purposely making things up. I in my ignorance have hated him but I still think he can be cured. Meanwhile my mom doubts his recovery at all... This life is so confusing that I wonder if living is worthwhile.

I am not so religious, but I attended a sermon recently in which the father said "God is love." And "In falling from God's grace we discovered shame and guilt." I believe we have the devil to thank AS MUCH AS light has dark to thank. For without the other neither would/could be conceived. In a similar light, guilt comes from within us and shame comes from without. So with God being love, and love being present then that love can help us through our own guilt and shame, considering those who profess the word of God are not a source of shame then there will likely be progress. Imho.
