Kid B of course It's not that hard to be happy - but understand that not all happiness is the same There is the happiness that is GIVEN & happiness that is EARNED! The given one has to do with pleasures of the flesh - sleep, food, sex and that's about it Happiness that is Earned is what Kid A wanted - the top marks that are earned, the praise of his teachers, a bright future - that is a different kind of happiness

@@whitevoid4516 Exactly - for EVERY choice there are pluses & minuses What these Buddhists don't seem to get is that their choice of joy & happiness comes with a cost The Buddha and his followers were beggars, sleeping on the floor, eating whatever food people gave But imagine an accident - which hospital would be willing to treat a person unable to pay the bill? There are people retiring in their 30's - that is because they worked hard, earned a lot of money & were able to enjoy the lazy days, whereas there are some people still working in their 70's! poor choices made like Kid B But then there are people who committed suicide because of the pressure of their jobs - high-paying jobs come with lots of pressure - whereas low-paying jobs come with low pressure It's all a matter of making a choice - no magic in this

Trying to retain something in live that's not already "within" you, trying to be rich, smart, and all, but sacrificing your time and always worried about what will come next yes we earned that happiness, but for how long, later then, Kid A will have other goals and should maintain his top position from others. It's not about earned or given happiness, it's about being happy knowing that you broke free from what suffers you in the beginning. Desire to become this and that, that's why monkhood is almost like being happy all the time. Knowing you shouldn't worry about this materialistic world and also was kid B always happy until the end? no. yet again, it's not about happiness that we earn or given. It's that you try to leave this suffering and achieve almost like forever happiness

@@jayann5705 What Hinduism is saying is that your Heaven is not up in the sky but right here - you will be reborn as a Tree or a Dog As a Dog, you will be fed, protected, sheltered & cared for - zero work, worries or responsibilities! Heaven! The easy life of joy & happiness is yours God, thru life, has taught you that there is no free lunch. That you stay a helpless child, fed, sheltered, protected & cared for with few worries & zero work for only a short while - then you will have to grow up and learn to be an Adult - make a living, learn to stand on your own two feet, face the world on your own Not just humans but ALL creatures on this earth obey this Law But you reject God's lessons and laws, you let greed for the easy good life blind you to cheap promises of religions and their Ponzi-scheme Heavens! But God is not unkind - You are telling him that adult human life is too tough for you, you want to stay a helpless child for eternity - fed, protected, sheltered & cared for And God will make it happen But there is a price & that price is human life

Thanks for the biggest lesson to be at peace and happy. Attachments always bring sorrow and entangle life in miseries. True happiness and peace, as mentioned in this story, lies Inside because Inside lies the Master, i.e. Lord. Hence, if Lord is realized then nothing is left to be achieved but Real Happiness and Peace with maximization of Meditation free from all entanglements and worries. Therefore, Unattached Life and Meditation is the only way for true Happiness.

@@ErikaK Please don't try to love anybody. You are love itself when you're afraid of nothing. You want to unite yourself with everyone else and you call it love. You don't have to do this. You are are already one with everything else. Don't separate yourself from the whole, then fear comes to an end and you're in your natural state and that's love. And you have nothing to do for reverting to your natural state except refraining from trying to make it happen. And don't force yourself to make you refrain from doing anything. Non violence shall be applied to yourself also.
