Austrian David Lama, 28, has became the first person to reach the summit of Nepal’s Lunag Ri - until recently one of the highest unclimbed peaks in the world. During a three-day solo ascent, Lama faced extreme weather including minus 30 degrees Celsius (minus 22 Fahrenheit) temperatures and 80 km/h (50mph) winds. The climber did not use ropes for most of his solo climb, which followed three earlier attempts abandoned due to exhaustion, technical issues and a heart attack suffered by his climbing partner. Lama has released video of his fourth climb, as he describes how he finally made the summit.

I saw it today@27th of April 2024. And I just thought of making an advice, that this accomplishment isn't worth risking ur life. As, I scrolled down, I saw the comments, praying for his RIP. I realized, I was wrong, It really was and it has always been. Every accomplishment is special. The thing that matters is- How much, that task values for the person. This is personal & nobody, has any right to decide it for anybody, else. I am sorry Mr. Lama. RIP. On 27th of April 2024, I came to know Mr. David Lama, and his accomplishments, while he passed away 5 years back. And it is because of him, that, I came to know, mountaineering is an international sport, which holds local to world level competitions, in multiple categories. It is because of him, I know the name of this mountain, since, he climbed it solo, and until 2018, it was never conquered. So, it was worth risking your life.

He would have runned up k2. This looks difficult than bottleneck
@jaisalrw3494

bottleneck is not difficult. Its just dangerous because of the huge seracs above it that can collapse anytime. The climb itself is not that technical.

1.Even in the toughest situations u should never look back and keep going 2. Humans can reach any extremes when they have proper goal. 3. Fear makes u weak. Will makes u strong.. 4. In 8 billion people, when no one has ever reached that point..it makes feel super human doing that. 5. I can go on.. I can reach to any extent. Even there isn't anyone beside me.. 6.the list goes on...

Why does ones personal accomplishments require public benefits? Why cant we set personal goals and personal accomplishments. We all must walk this path alone and we have different aspirations
