As I Syracuse fan I feel we got robbed of a better season by LeBron and his greedy, underhanded agent. Bazley also got robbed because a year of college high profile exposure probably would have put him higher in the draft. In 2019 he went at 23. He signed a four-year $11 million contract. That's not bad. But my guess in 2019 he could not touch the top three (Zion, Barrett, Morant) but he could have gone ahead of number 7 Coby White. White signed a four-year $24 million contract. More than double what Bazley got. At Syracuse Bazley would have played against Barrett and Williamson (At least twice at Duke- Sys split the series without Bazley) and Hunter (#4 pick out of Virginia) and White (UNC). There were six 2019 lottery picks Bazley would have played against in college. College would have allowed him to play himself into the lottery. He was robbed and should have been much richer. Barrett signed a four-year $107 million contract with the Knicks. IMHO Bazley would have gone right behind or ahead of Barrett. He was robbed by his agent.

But, he also got a $1M deal and an internship at New Balance. Did he cultivate any relationships while he was there?? Did he do any workouts on his own? All the open runs they have in the off-season (Drew League, etc..), did he participate in any? All this stuff he’s talking about is normal for everyone in athletics who go pro. Between the time you’re drafted, until you play your first game (or sign your deal), all the money you’re spending is borrowed from someone (usually your agent). We all like to find someone to blame when we fall short of our goals. But, how many of you would have made sure that you didn’t leave New Balance without some relationships that ultimately would resulted in you getting a deal? How many of you would have done what you needed to do for that year to make sure that when it was time you were ready. He could have went to college, but that $1M deal and that New Balance relationship would have been set up for him. He should have asked Darius what he could have done in that time to better himself. Because I can guarantee you he was probably just chillin’.
