This is the complete soundtrack to the first Darius game, done with 3 MSX units. Normally, OPLL can only play one custom patch at a time; however, with three MSX units, the sound quality is significantly improved. Plus, using three MSX units also provides stereo panning.

arcade was the worst sounding version though...ogura was hitting the salty sashimi a bit too hard with the voice envelopes he chose for the arcade version, he was thankfully reined in by the limitations of home hardware and it resulted in much better versions of the compositions

this is really great. what does that mean "OPLL can only play one custom patch at a time"? MSX-MUSIC can play only a piano patch at a time? All nine channels should be the same piano tone?

+neodasan The YM2413 can play from fifteen predefined instruments plus one custom patch, meaning you can define only one custom instrument at a time. The custom instrument can play on any combination of channels, including zero.
