Darius Garland TRADE RUMORS: What's real, what's fake & what's changed for the Cleveland Cavaliers

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Darius Garland broke his postseason silence this weekend in Las Vegas, according to a report.
It sure sounds like the Cavs will be running it back this upcoming season after rumors surfaced that Garland would want to be traded if backcourt mate Donovan Mitchell signed an extension with the team.
“I don’t want to be traded,” Garland said. “Those are just rumors.”
Those words sound fairly definitive on Garland’s end, especially given that perception throughout the league was that he and Mitchell could not co-exist, professionally speaking, in the same backcourt.
Garland, who suffered a broken jaw that sidelined him for a significant part of the season, struggled after he returned in January, never really finding his groove again. Garland was expected to elevate the Cavs' status in the postseason, but injuries took their toll. DG is an All-star guard that just had some injuries. It happens. My only gripe with DG he needs to push the pace. Don't give the defense a chance to reload. DG is a great shooter, but enjoys assisting more than scoring. So, he's a true pg who is a gifted shooter. I love the kid, and I would've cried if he left. I like his unselfish play. I'm sure Donovan likes his play as well, which is why DM didn't sign his contract until 3 days later. So, that all the teams would've made their trades & DG would be less available in a trade. I think Altman & Ganzy is doing a fine job. We got a superstar locked in for the next 3 years. We came from a rebuilding to now in the EC semifinals. Nothing to sneeze at. Sometimes fans get spoiled & forget how high we've climbed. Be Thankful we have came a long way. The Wizards & Jazz are still rebuilding or retooling. We have minor issues & tweaks to do. It could be worse!

This is why I dislike Cleveland’s sports media sometimes. Koby has stated all off season “the core 4 will not be moved”. Since their reports were inaccurate, they are finding a way to legitimize it. Cavs are already ahead of the Game.. they just need to mature and get a coach that can unlock them offensively.

Huge Darius fan. Some freak injuries have been brutal last two seasons. His game is similar to Mitchell, so hopefully new coaching staff can bring out the best in both. People comment out there like there’s some easy solution when the fact of the matter is the Cavs have a hell of a lineup just need for Mobley to have a break out season, team to stay healthy and maybe make one more trade or work that exception they have. Both guards need to be better without the ball. There are times when the situation will dictate that one or the other will have the ball in his hands and the other guy needs to just accept he has a "catch and shoot" role for that possession. Doing that will also make the offense less predictable. If either guy can be the point, and the other can be really good as the two when that happens, it means the shot can come from anyone at any time and defenses will be less able to react. They also need to run more. They have fast guards and fast big men, but they ran less than just about any team in the league. I think more fast breaks and transition shots would improve a lot of things and even out everyone's usage stats.

evidence shows you need to trade garland at some point , he cant play both sides of the ball and doesnt mesh well with others , sexton , mitchell , 4th qtr 25% shooting and turnovers , .. its bad in that his salary and skills dont match so its really limiting the cavs organization ... garland is a solid player on a bad team, thats all, sorry but unless he shoots like curry and has less turn overs , he is fools gold
