Dark Angels vs Black Legion | 40K Boarding Action Battle Report

MISSION RULES
Lights Out: At the end of each player's Movement phase, roll one D6 for each Lighting Area: on a 1-3, until the end of the turn, the lights in that area turn off.
When selecting a target for a ranged attack, if the attacking unit or the target are wholly within a Lighting Area that has the lights off:
* If the target is more than 9" away, that attack cannot be made.
* If the target is within 9", subtract 1 from that attack's hit roll.
When selecting the targets of a charge, if the charging unit or the potential target are wholly within a Lighting Area that has the lights off:
* If the potential target is more than 9" away, that unit cannot be a target of that charge.
* If the potential target is within 9", subtract 1 from the charge roll (to a maximum of -1, regardless of how many units are in Lighting Areas with the lights off).
Underdog Bonus: If one player is the Underdog, that player starts the battle with 1 additional Command point.

Progressive Objective
At the end of each player's Command phase, the player whose turn it is scores 5 victory points for each of the following conditions they satisfy (for a maximum of 15 victory points):
* They control one or more objective markers.
* They control two or more objective markers.
* They control more objective markers than their opponent controls.
This objective cannot be scored in the first battle round. In the fifth battle round, the player who has the second turn does not score any victory points at the end of their Command phase; instead, at the end of their turn, they score 5 victory points for each of the above conditions they satisfy (for a maximum of 15 victory points).

End Game Objective
At the end of the battle, each player scores 15 victory points for each of the following conditions they satisfy (for a maximum of 30 victory points):
* They control both objective markers in Lighting Area 1.
* They control both objective markers in Lighting Area 2.

This Action can be completed at the end of the movement phase and completed at the beginning of the next command phase whilst within 2” of the control panel on Inquisitor Heidegger's cell. Once completed, Inquisitor Heidegger is able to act as normal.

This action can be completed whilst within 2” of The Child at the end of the movement phase and is completed at the end of the shooting phase
+ The Anointed One +
The Black Legion can take 1 Obliterator in their list regardless of the Boarding Actions Detatchment rules..
+ Shackled Warrior +
Inquisitor Heidegger can be used by the Imperium player regardless of the Boarding Actions Detatchment rules.

Seeing some Craftworld Eldar in Boarding Action would be interesting to see. Especially Wraithguard with Banshees dashing and screaming their way through the bulkheads. And Autarch to lead them.

The wounded terminator has been corrupted by chaos. Each turn roll a d6 added the number of the turn to the roll. On a 7 he bursts through his armour into a spawn. On an 8 the anointed one returns to battle with d3 wounds.

That's what I love about narrative games - you get to see units and characters that rarely see much use since they're being picked for narrative flavour rather than pure strategic value. In regular games the Dark Commune is a little too niche in its uses to feature in many Chaos armies, but here they are getting a chance to show off because they make good villains for the story.

Love the darkness! Such a cool mechanic. Idea for section of the ship, maybe a corrupted mess hall, full of blood and rot. If nurgle character is on objective, any cultist killed, on a 6+ (5+?), stand’s back up as a pox walker. Do it in opponents command phase, so they can see where they r before moving or fighting. Try and cut through them to get to the bossman, or be swallowed…

Dark Angels are the best into faction to 40k now that we have Boarding Action. Just two boxes of Deathwing Command Squads gets you super close to 500 points with a squad of Knights, 4 DW command squad Termies, and a terminator Captain.

Special rule for the "fallen" terminator... Desperate Redemption If the dark commune is in line of sight, the "fallen" terminator must forego all other phases and actions and declare a charge against the dark commune in its charge phase...
