Hi Friends - so I shot this video on Monday (dad's PET Scan day) and today was his appointment to go over the results with his oncologist. SUCH good news. The news that I prayed for. And I felt like it was a huge prayer, but I truly believed it would come to pass. The scan showed NO cancer. He will still do some more chemo to ensure that it's truly gone (on a microscopic level, there could be the presence of cancer that the pet scan didn't pick up)... but I am just so glad. This result tells us that the first two rounds, while difficult, really did what they were supposed to do. Thank you for bearing with me, saying a prayer for us, and just being such a supportive family here. I love you

I went through the same thing with my dad a few years ago. It’s a rough road to walk, but you’re not walking it alone. Strangely my most vivid memory from that time is how it instantly made me feel like a little girl again - helpless and scared. I just wanted to share with you my experiece. My husband is a leukemia survivor (also a blood cancer) and had 5 total rounds of chemo his first time. He was in remission for 2 years when he relapsed and ended up needing a stem cell transplant. He is 11 years in remission since his transplant. I will tell you that he swears having something to fight for and having faith are what kept him going strong. It's a tough battle especially with the weakened immune systems. You are absolutely doing the right thing by protecting him even if it's so hard. You are amazing and I am sending prayers and thoughts of health and comfort for you and your family, your father and your mother. So glad that the PET scan went well and had some good news. You never have to apologize for being human and having human emotions and displaying those on your channel. It's YOUR channel & much like any social media platform, there is A LOT of life going on behind the screen. You're allowed to be scared & anxious & upset. Being human isn't bringing anyone down, at all, it just reminds your viewers that you're going through things too! My dad started radiation this past Monday for squamous cell cancer on his head. He's doing 3 bolus doses this week ( M, Tu, Wed) and then he'll go into 3 times a week for 13 weeks. It's tough being on this side of someone hurting and especially when that someone is a part of our life that we care deeply for and love more than words can say. While I wouldn't wish this on anyone for any reason, I am very appreciative of you sharing your emotions and letting us see YOU. You're helping me more than you know by showing it's okay to let it out. We are going to be praying right along with you and also praying that he doesn't require any radiation. Thank you for being vulnerable with us and trusting us with your emotions. It's not easy to let the guard down when you spend all day trying to keep everyone in positive moods.
