You can still make the disateroid joke happen (I like it as a joke, I hate it as an ending for his character) by showing him behind a different rock seconds later, revealing that he just made a clone of himself to talk to about how miserably he failed. Nothing else to do in space and no one else to talk to, it makes sense for Vlad's character.

I think what could have happened is that Vlad got struck by the Disasteroid, severely burned by the ectoranium, which let him to put his final ounce of remaining power into a last ditch teleport - Vlad can teleport after all - putting him behind the asteroid depicted in the comic from where he looked after the Disasteroid drifting across space while taking some rest before heading back to Earth. But I like that idea too.

After I had first bought the graphic novel, let me just say that Gabriela Epstein did an excellent job putting her absolute best in this. This is giving me like Avatar vibes when it felt cinamatic. It was that good that I had read it twice. Picking up where the show left off and showing explanation to how vlad was still alive after the dastroid mamed him from existence. But after the ultimate enemy it was clear to know that Danny learned to realize that the choices he make will comeback to bite him if he decided to cheat which is like taking short cuts in life, but wanted to change for the better. That’s why for future Dark Danny clockwork wanted to help Danny by not going down the wrong path by stopping him from making a huge mistake that could ruin his future. Helping ghost actually fits Danny’s mono as ghosts aren’t separated entities they’re manifestation of real human emotions Which means that ghost can rely to the sprit realm by taking after the human realm. Each ghost he had fought over in each season shows their own emotional ghost half base on their backstory or difficult issue insecurity like Ember McClain and spectra to be divided basically because of the emotions of their personalities.

Don’t get me wrong I’d LOVE to see this story animated one day for sure but honestly these graphic novels are better ways to continue the series after it initially ends it’s TV run. As you pointed out, Butch Hartman said that the ghost of the ghost zone are not an actual ghosts which technically is a retcon and itself because it's a very first season, a lot of the ghosts when they showed up and even later into the show before season. 4. A lot of the ghosts would show up and in the story that they were in it would be like. Oh yeah that's they died because of this or they were here at this point at some point. Some examples are the lunch lady or Amber talking about her ex and how she died. Supposably sm uh or when Valerie was introduced as a ghost hunter and the guard dog that turned into a puppy and was looking for his toy constantly showed up at her dad's place where they constantly said that they got rid of the guard dogs and implying that they killed them all The lunch was he showing up because somebody changed the menu at the school that she used to work at. The box goes looking like a dock worker and showing up mostly at the docks

I mean, I kinda see why he would want to tone down the nature of these implications... but honestly, at this point no one gives a fuck. Could've just said "Ghosts are not deceased souls awaiting purgatory" and that's it. Especially now that they actually are mere emotions reflected as lingering remnants, with the more human ghosts still being more in touch with their complete self. Basically an essence, though not the soul itself... despite the fact there were humans that died and really became ghosts.

I preordered this book as soon as I could so I could read it as soon as it was out. It meant soooo much to finally get this story after such a long wait! And it was sooo much fun! Honestly, the retcons made me laugh, and I felt very surprised and satisfied with Vlad having something of a character redemption arc. It felt like such a better ending (or start of an ending) for him than the joke death in Phantom Planet. Over all, I really loved the book, and all the sweet art of Danny and his friends and family made me so happy! And gosh I missed Danny Phantom jokes so much...

This shows that just like Steven Universe, Aang and ZUKO from Avatar the last airbender, Danny Fenton not deciding what to do with his life by sometimes being unsure or feeling anxious to what responsibility he should have for his actions makes sense since the very beginning when you really think about it. This is a side of growth and maturity and the power to change to be your own person, that’s why he then decided not to have dark Danny vanish because that’s the SAME feeling but in an alternate timeline. Which is also what made vlad plasmius felt to changed his ego after clockwork rejects his choice because just like Danny vlad should learn to change for the better by reflecting on his mistakes and not let the past keep him from moving forward. Now the real question is what will Valerie grey do now that she knows BOTH of danny and vlad’s secret identity?

I like the book it gave me new perspective on dark Danny. Made me realize why he was such a threat he says can’t feel anything yet he takes joy in killing and destruction but whenever he attacked he always tried get everyone attention make grand speeches constantly show off his power like vlad. I never understood when I was kid why he was evil because I only anazlying things from Danny darker half vlad being in this comic calling out dark Danny being scared finally filled the gap. I think deep down dark Danny wants hurt everyone because he jealous he literally can’t feel happiness or joy he was only left hate,fear,other darkest parts both Danny and vlad I think he wanted everyone be unhappy because he can’t he doesn’t fully understand that he wants to be happy due to origins he can’t do hurts as a way feel any concept of joy

My problem with the ending is that Danny was made public enemy number one again and not Vlad who outed himself, though people probably think he's still in deep space. ClockWork said there'd be changes to the timeline and the events of "Phantom Planet" seem to be the most changed but we don't a summery of what those changes are aside from people not knowing Danny's secret again. At any rate I still love the book and the new direction the series could go in if we get more books.

*Really* enjoyed the book! I especially loved how Vlad redeemed himself and got the ghost son he wanted, and I wonder if we’ll see more of that in the future 🙂 I also sympathize Phantom when he finally breaks down about losing everything and being alone like we saw in the Ultimate Enemy, but never saw his feelings afterwards since he locked them inside himself. It was especially touching how Danny tried to support him but Phantom keeps glitching in pain, so it was wholesome how Vlad offered his body to save him; of course it was also wholesome how Vlad told Phantom how he understood him since his ghost half is part of Phantom (also it’s intriguing how now Phantom’s 24 year old body is now within Danny’s 14 year old ghost body 😅). If we get another story, I wonder if we’ll see more of Vlad with Phantom and maybe Valerie is tracking down Phantom after being in the Ghost Zone. I also don’t mind so much that things are the way they are again. Idk maybe there’ll be another heavy conflict, and Danny will have to reveal his identity again. Also wonder if in a future heavy conflict, Danny and Phantom and Vlad and maybe others gotta work together 🙂 Yeah there’s tons of thoughts and ideas to explore 😆

I have a strange feeling Dan in his new predicament is just going to get the Dani treatment, in the sense that he's not going to appear as much unless something is up regarding the clone body. Vlad's clones aren't exactly known for being stable either unless Vlad has the same material that was used to stabilize Dani. Which I'm not sure if it was ever established he has it post Dani (yes Dani) episodes. Also, how did the group forget Valerie having the time medallion? Will this mean there are two Valeries in consequence since the ending makes it clear Clockwork wouldn't have known when he collected the medallions back?

The post-credit scene was my favorite when Clockwork offers Vlad the chance to start his path of redemption by merging Dark Danny with an empty clone body. Makes sense because Dark Danny is literally a spirit fusion of Danny and Vlad's ghost selves. Mirroring how Danny is back to his status quo of having bad publicity , Dark Danny also returned to his roots as a half ghost/half human although his new body is literally artificially created. I am kind of interested that Dark Danny's newly reincarnated form inside a clone body will be entirely new to him because he will relearn everything from the beginning with the help of Vlad. On added note, it is more interesting to see the narrative reversal now that Danny is the seasoned veteran whereas Dark Danny is the underdog relearning everything. A total 180 when Danny first met Vlad when Vlad was the experienced villain and Danny was fhe rookie hero.

I think ghosts like Vortex, Undergrowth, Nocturn, and Spectra wouldn't change at all. Bertrand would for sure (he would ditch Spectra) and Skulker would at first not change then after a bit of convincing he would eventually change and him and Danny would have this kinda relationship where they just bother each other a lot but aren't enemies lol. Aragon I could see eventually changing once he sees how far Dora's come after Beauty Marked. Ember and Kitty would become best friends with Desiree, Dora and Jazz, and Desiree would be set up with Technus and I could see Dora becoming Danny's doctor.

Ghosts being manifestations of emotions and them being monsters from another dimension is literally the exact same thing. It’s simply future elaboration of said concept. Other franchises have done the exact same thing for… actually since before humanity first existed.

Multiverse, clones, time recons, villain redemption arcs, seems pretty derivative. I don't like the idea of erasing the fact that everyone knew he was Danny Phantom, or at least erasing that from his parents. The plot is good and stays well in the tone of the show but some of the dialogue seemed mellow dramatic especially Danny finding his new purpose through emotions, and Vlad's heroic dialogue, like the idea is great but the execution is just okay. Millions times better than what Butch would have come up with. Would love to see this adapted into an animated movie! Tucker was mayor? I didn't know that was why he dressed like that in the finale!

I always had the theory, that Dark Danny history (or better said: What Vlad told us) was not entirely true. But thats just my theory based on the fact, that trusting Vlad was never a good idea.
