That line from Bierce in the beginning is really well written. "You want a new start, a better life. I can give you that, and more." Really shows how much personality the devs put into their characters. Also that flashback scene really encapsulates how dark this chapter is. His hatred for his family, cheating on his wife, then killing them both. Getting cancer, and then deciding to make a pact with a demon to try and change what he did wrong. He felt remorse... And that's just saddening...

But technically it wasn’t a victory for either Doug or Lucky. Doug still got the ring piece regardless of him not properly escaping. Which is the exact reason he’ll return in CH5
