The cav on oval bases nearly puts them at skirmish width, the WE horde looks to be more like 11 wide due to the tray, and the Cauldron of Blood should take up the space of 15 (3x5) infantry models which matters as it extends the ranks of your horde formation. Just want to say I haven't watched the bat-rep beyond army presentation yet, but you should beware that the DE list does have discrepancies that does have gameplay impact.

This is the sad part of 8th edition. Ogres shoot better than the empire and ogre and khorne cannons are better in every way. Move and shoot (Hide them 1st turn to not be killed and then get out and surprise!), not instant killed when in combat, in fact decent combat capabilities, more wounds and armor...I don´t know what GW was thinking... Anyway, love to see fantasy being played! Keep the good work!

I’m torn. I love watching these semi-competitive/semi-character driven games and they rekindle my love of 8th Ed. But watching some of the rather silly unit moves or rules mistakes has me wanting to reach through the screen :-). Why on earth did you move those riders with the wizard up next to the cat when it was obvious the ogres were going to win combat on your turn, reform and make an easy charge into them? You could have shot/doom bolted the cat from way further away and use your fast cav status to stay away. (And in the Skaven vid where the player lost by not realising his unit was steadfast and ran away with his lord). Still, I love this series so please keep them up. Even the idea of using AoS based modes to play is refreshingly fun. Reminds me of the house rules and cobbled together armies we played with as kids when we couldn’t afford full armies. From a fan!

Iron guts would be terrible special units. Aside from +1 ld they’re basically like any other army’s core unit that can upgrade their weapon and armor. They gain no special rules and lose the ability to take “shields” unlike some other armies’ great weapon units who can take them for the extra armor against shooting or the option to use hw/shield which is really good in some situations.
@sassyviking60032 жыл бұрын
agreed. I basically never even use them because I preferred to run a horde of bulls with ironfist back in the day. The cheaper bulls were actually more durable with the parry saves and could still deal plenty of damage. Especially if I got off a buff spell or 2, it worked very well.
@judjementine4 жыл бұрын
honestely i don't think the wildwood played as big of a role as luka thinks on that unit of dark riders because that unit of ogors still rolled an ogor charge so he would've still taken 3d3 impact attacks before the fight even started so the ogors would've probably still overan into the other dark riders unit.

So what exactly is the difference between AoS and Fantasy? I never played any of them, but want to get into AoS
@MuamerHodzic4 жыл бұрын
So Fantasy has a much darker tone. Things are all set in a single world which (when you look at the map especially) resembles the medieval world a lot. The general tone is grimdark low fantasy. Magic exists but it's rarely used outside of battles and chances are a commoner would sooner die of the pox than glimpse an elf. Factions all hate each other and no true allies exist. Age of Sigmar is much more noblebright. Things are bad but there are people working to make things better. It also takes place on several worlds, each with their own particular flavour. One might be a world made of fire magic so the environments are generally very hot and the outlook and culture of the beings living there is impulsive, boisterous and aggressive for example. It's high fantasy so magic happens all the time and while it is still rare, it's more like in the modern world where you see a celebrity. You'd see a mage casting spells and it'd be wonderful but everyone else has their own stories about the one time they saw a floating castle or a beast made of ice. Also all the people that live in metropolitan areas are of different races usually. Which means rather than the fantasy trope of seeing an elf once from a distance, in AoS your next door neighbour is an elf and the guy that runs the Inn is a dwarf. Gameplay wise, Fantasy is much blockier and more about the rank and file. Individuals matter a lot less and a cohort moves as a whole. AoS is much more focused on skirmishes so each model matters a lot more to the battle and isn't just a representation of HP like in Fantasy. Hope that helps! If you have any other questions let me know.
@MuamerHodzic4 жыл бұрын
Oh! One more thing. Fantasy tends to discourage making your own warbands. You can, it's just that Fantasy has such a long history and setting that almost every single white space on the map has been filled out. Most ideas about armies or factions you can think of have already been done or some contrivance in the setting doesn't allow you to make a unique army. For example you can't have an army that's led by a charismatic, kind leader in Kislev who cares about civilians and mourns every man he loses because Kislevians aren't raised that way and so on. Whereas in Age of Sigmar you have literally several planets to work with. So you can be an army that's only in Shyish (the death realm) and you're (let's say) Kharadron Overlords. You can very easily say "My Kharadron Overlords are led by a narcissistic pugilist named Mi'ke Ty'son and whenever they lose a man during a skirmish they don't mourn him because they go back to their base and his ghost is there waiting for them to have a party that very night." You can do that and no one can say zip about it because the worlds are so vast that there is absolutely a possibility that there is a group out there that does that.
@MGC-XIII4 жыл бұрын
@@MuamerHodzic so technically AoS is just 40k in a fantasy setting? I have always loved the fantasy world of warhammer a lot more than the 40k equivelant, but I have only played 40k on table top, oh and Mordheim.
@MuamerHodzic4 жыл бұрын
@@MGC-XIII Age of Sigmar is not 40k in a fantasy setting. 40K is "nothing will get better, everything is getting worse" AoS is "things have been bad but we can make it through and work together and we'll build a brighter future!" 40K and AoS also don't share any of the same rules. There are some influences that you can see peeking through but they're few and far between. Think of AoS as Lord of the Rings style fantasy while Warhammer Fantasy is Game of Thrones style fantasy. and 40k is star wars if George Lucas had depression.

Blight02 honestly it’s just Josh’s insane cannons. If you watch any Cullen Skaven game, you’ll see the true accuracy of artillery.
@Blight024 жыл бұрын
@@MINIbigmac10 I mean 1/6th chance of misfire (even warped by terrible luck) is still really good odds for doing something meaningful. The bounce can hurt but if you are smart with initial placement it's still close to only failing on another misfire. Ogre cannons make even that trivial. They single handedly removed monsters from the game. Also the fact they count as templates and thus hit both mounts and riders is crazy good. Saw Malareon's dragon sniped out from under him on more than a few occasions.
