It is mainly used when you barely have any boost , but I saw videos about Dark demoing people who use boost with only using wall dash so it might be a little faster actually cause supersonic is not a specific speed , there is a very slight km/H diffrence between the top speed in the game and the speed when you enter supersonic , it is barely noticeable which is why you can get demoed from behind even if you are supersonic cause the opponent might be just 2-3km/H faster than you but it is enough
