Basically the higher your MMR vs the opponent the more you lose on a loss and the less you gain on a win. The key is to be able to beat your peers to win good MMR, OR, play more often than your peers and score tiny MMRs off the weaker players, which is obviously what Zen did: play 2v2s a LOT more than his peers.

Yeah I mean this is always what happens. Whatever team is at the top develops a target on their back and every other team creates teams and strategies specifically to beat that team. It’s no surprise vitality wouldn’t remain at the top for long. Although, as you mentioned most of their losses if not all of them were very close, and I think that the other teams wanted it more as the underdogs, and vitality may have gotten slightly overconfident and comfortable not expecting their opponents to improve so quickly. I think this poor placing has reminded vitality that the world around them is improving and they have to continue to improve as well if they want to stay at the top and I would by no means be surprised to see vitality come back next event and win it/win worlds. On a side note - vitality really raised the bar in Europe and I am SHAKING for NA next worlds.. G2 is the only team who look like they can hold a candle to EU top 5 right now and even then - EU’s top 3 are all at or above G2s level

the point rating is so broken i had a game where my team mate had the highest mmr in lobby, we won by around 4 goals, other team lost 8 mmr team mate gained 8 and i lost 1... for winning the game took my mmr away for winning and i had the highest score in that game

MMR is purely based off of wins and losses, not your score during the game. After your placement rounds, you typically gain/lose 8 MMR per match, but there is a multiplier after you win a couple games in a row (so that GCs and above arent sitting in Diamond for a bunch of games.) It could be that your rating updated a couple of games at once or something. Like a wjn and a loss. The rating site is a 3rd party site and so it prob doesnt instantly update all the time.

If you think Vitality is not worse then why did Radosinho go from flying everywhere, shutting down the opponents play, to sitting in net half the game as last man back? I think Alpha has become first man, zen second, and rado 3rd. It just doesn't work. Zen should be 3rd man, alpha 2nd, and Rado 1st. That's how they one worlds and went undefeated. The moment that changed, they couldn't win a single event!!

I'm sick of the fan girling content creation. I like Zen, he may be the best mechanically in the world, he's certainly one of the best 10 in RLCS overall, but he's not a god, and it's immature to be treating him like one just because of his debut performance. Get excited for his debut, sure, but calm yourself down a little and measure him with an objective eye thereafter instead of your excited emotions. It's not good for him or the sport to constantly lift him up like this. Understand I have no personal stake in this. i just think they lost their confidence and self esteem. this is a game of the mental. you have days where your mental is on top, and you feel like a god. amd you win. then you have days where your mental is low and you feel like garbage. these guys had that godlike feeling, they were destroying everyone. for that, they got mad feeling of mastery, they were feared, respected, basically unstoppable. so they kept winning. then everyone got used to it, stopped fearing them, they also didnt get the feeling of mastery after a while of just winning, so they werent driven by something stupidly much boosting feeling in their brain anymore. so they are now just any other team. this is just like any other game btw
