I really like the black PT, I need to pick up a feather. Looks like a really solid fly. I'm not used to using those long shanked hooks. I dig it!

I didn’t want to use that hook either. I couldn’t find the one I waned I wanted to use a Tiemco 3761 . When you get a black pheasant tail be real selective the black dye seems to burn them and not all of them are desirable for tying

@@driftstone no the tiemco hook isn’t as long as this fire hole 839 but it is a little longer than the 633. The tiemco is just long enough that with a bead you then have the length of a 633 free to tie on you are welcome on the dye tip
