Thank u for this video it’s crazy cause no matter what I always have a spot in my heart for dark magician. BEWD represents power and DM represents strategy that’s why I always been attracted to the DM decks of Battle chronicles skill cause soo many different ways u could run it. Makes it more fun and rewarding for me

My most recent deck is a DM fusion one with this skill… and the spell Eye of Timmaeus for fusion summoning Dark Paladin , Dark Cavalry or the Dark Magicians. I’ve also got Quintet Magician in the extra deck. Been having a lot of fun with this deck and it’s not THE most reliable but it’s so so fun to play cuz I’m an OF Yu-Gi-Oh fan and DM is my fav. 🎉

Even though this is Dark Magician, you should really consider Dragon Spirit of White! It's a Cosmic Cyclone on summon that also triggers Battle Chronicle! Picture this: Dragon Spirit & Circle in hand. Dragon Spirit banishes a backrow, then you search for Successor Soul to send their monster, then when you summon Dark Magician, you can banish ANOTHER card too. You got rid of 3 cards for the price of 2. This is an amazing play going 2nd! 👍 It's also decent going 1st, since Successor Soul with Circle is 2 interruptions.

And then with all of that advantage you get nothing else but beatsticks. This is an early game play that doesn't keep the grind game in mind, and will not contribute to the rest of your gameplan. Dark Magician is one of the best archetypes there is at playing through and against backrow so thats kinda a casual fun idea rather than an optimal idea. Not that the play is bad but when taking the whole duel into consideration its gimmicky. -Undead

With this skill, I go with Black Luster Soldier (Specifically, the Duel Links normal monster variant) and throw in Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon for Dragon Master Knight with Ultimate Fusion.

I tried that out but found that it contributed to bricks, so I cut out any bricks that would lower the win rate -undead

could you see the value of adding another secrets of dark magic and running 2 total? also do you think chronicle magician has any place here or it would just be adding a brick to the deck and interrupting the flow of everything? thanks for making this guide. i only recently started duel links and i loved dark magician growing up so this was great. im winning many duels :)

hey bro, theres really no real reason to play another secrets of dark magic since there are a lot of duels where you dont even activate 1, the second would contribute to bricks. Chronicle Magician only gives dark magician attack that he doesn't need because apprentice provides that and more, and is more versatile, so its just best to ignore its existence to be honest. If you have any more questions I'm really happy to answer cuz I'm tryin to have as many master dark magician duelists in the community as possible -undead

I play DM 30 cards in my deck with full of quick spell cards and reach legend 4 (who cares it's a fun game play whatever you want - except those FKing stupid tanchyon - 1 banish, 1 destroy, 1 negate and he STILL has 2 BOSS summoned, 1 negate card in his hand and OTK ME in that turn). I play a version with spellcasters exchange in case I brick with more than 1 DM or Witchcrafter Hane, so far I’m 40-5 on ladder and 2 of those losses were because I activated Rod in graveyard by accident lol

do you think it would be okay to run 1 navigation instead of 3 or do you feel having 3 is an integral part to playing this deck? at the moment i’m only running one and i feel okay but not sure how you’d feel since eventually DMs run out in the deck

they do run out but for consistency purposes running 3 is really important, for example when you have multiple you can discard 1 with apprentice to give you a faster backrow negate. Its also just really important to be able to open in case rod needs to search something else -undead

I don't fully understand the use for the link monsters in the extra deck, can some explain please? Ive built this deck but don't have Artemis and wondering if its worth going through a load of packs or it or if its replaceable with a different link master instead?

Artemis is so that you can link off rod so that your board can be clear for navigation and so that you can trigger rods grave effect on the opponents turn so you can use it again on the next turn. Imduk is so that you can link off dark magician so that you can have an effect monster to tribute with successor soul, and also so that you can get dark magician in grave to revive with eternal soul -undead

hey bro, halving battle damage isn't that helpful of an effect since when we are doing our gameplan we aren't going to be in danger of taking much battle damage anyway. all of the cards in this deck contribute to both defense and offense in versatile ways, while magicians defense would very rarely be what you need as well as the fact that its not searchable -undead

The new cards from Magicians Chronicle dont add any value to the deck, so would you skip the structure deck? And also, would you play successor soul ever at 2 or even 3?

I would say the structure deck has great reprints if you don't have the cards already so there is that benefit and if you wanna play blue eyes you should get it for the new fusion spell. I would never play successor soul at 2 or 3, the card is fine to open in some hands however you'll never really need more than 1 and you'll always have access to it when you need it. The card is pretty bricky generally and it isn't the best interruption, its just nice that it is a searchable interruption -Undead

By the time its able to he used you've already set up a winning state it doesnt contribute to getting to that winning state and theres no consistent way to get dmg early without bricking -undead
