I could not figure out the cut either. So did evil Jason kidnap the Jason #3 from the family that thought our Jason was a murderer? And now fate is having both kidnapped Jasons team up to get evil Jason. It's gonna be a real funhouse scene when they all meet up.

No, it’s explained in the book. When married Jason’s embarks on his multiversal trip to get home he ends up creating like 100,000 nearly identical Jason’s who were also kidnapped and displaced but all made slightly different decisions along the way. Hence things like the broken finger. So they all descend on the same universe.

Earlier on in the episode I recognized there was an additional Jason. An extra click between worlds was the giveaway. From the start of the episode we’re in the original world with Daniela, Charlie, the detective and Jason 2. At 9.49 There’s a click to who I assume is Jason 1 with Amanda leaving the Box and entering the utopia world, and the scene goes all the way to his solo return to the box. But then, at 24.52, there’s another click which goes back to what seems to be Jason 1 in a broken version of his world and the return again to the box. If that’s the same Jason that was in the utopia world, then why was there a click? Then yet another click at 25.22 right back to Jason 1. I played it back 3 times in confusion. But the payoff at the end was golden.

Great recap and review but one correction: that was probably a 3rd Jason who went into the store a 2nd time to buy a gun, and there’s likely even more Jason’s than that, each having taken a different path to return to his own world. We saw this foreshadowed at the start of the season, when Jason1 and Amanda1 saw a version of themselves in an almost identical world trying to escape Leighton and his henchmen, and Amanda2 was shot and killed. So we can assume that that other Jason somehow escaped into the box without Amanda, and as a result of being alone, had a different experience getting back to his own world. Following this logic, multiple worlds = multiple Jason’s, all with the same goal of returning to the same world. And because these Jason’s are more or less the same, they all think alike and follow the same instincts, which is why 2 Jason’s immediately went into a store to buy a gun. If I’m correct, then these original Jason‘s will probably all fight amongst themselves, each one firmly believing he’s the real Jason who deserves to be back with his family. Imagine having to outwit multiple versions of yourself who think and feel exactly the same way you do. Also, the utopian world that Amanda1 decided to stay in is probably the same world Ryan1 was left in. That world was created by both Amanda1 and evil Jason, who were once in a relationship together. So it’s more than just a coincidence that they’d both envision the same utopian world, but for very different reasons. For evil Jason, it’s a world where he can conveniently dump Ryan1 in, while rationalizing that he’s still doing a good thing. For Amanda1, it’s a world she imagined for herself. This is why we got that scene with evil Jason accurately describing the internal motivations of therapist Amanda. The scene served to show that evil Jason knows Amanda well enough to imagine a world she’d want to live in, which happens to be the same world he saw for his friend, Ryan. It paints a more nuanced picture of evil Jason that suggests he’s not entirely evil. I like how every scene in this show serves a purpose. So far, there’s been very few throw away scenes, imo.

It's a flaw in the narrative (so far) that is driving a lot of viewers nuts. The show could have explained it by showing Jason1 and Amanda do an inventory of items in the two bags (that contained the drugs) she grabbed when they first went into the box from Jason2's world. The most likely "currency" that could travel from world to world is Gold. A roll of Gold coins could be shown as part of the inventory. And, the first time Jason1 & Amanda stayed overnight--we could have watched them go to a coin shop to convert some Gold Coins for greenbacks. They only needed to show us once, so we'd understand they changed Gold for dollars every time they visited a new world.

I don't think it's the original Ryan, but some version that Evil-Jason approached to drag him drunk into his world. The result is that he is now physically present, but will be declared insane because of his other memories, which exonerates Evil-Jason. But I believe that Original Ryan and Amanda live in the same futuristic world, will meet each other and use the two capsules

WE'VE BEEN SIMULTANEOUSLY FOLLOWING TWO JASON1S AND TWO JASON2S: I was rewatching some of the episodes (jumping around really) ahead of episode 8 being released. What I discovered is that we have been following two Jason1s and two Jason2s simultaneously with their stories overlapping. The giveaway lies in the small details in terms of the layout and decor of their homes -the brownstone. It's practically pointed out to us in the first episode when Jason2 is having trouble making coffee. If you pay attention to the coffee pot's location you'll see that half of the time it's immediately to the right of the fridge and the other half of the time it's to the left of the blender which is left of the sink. Also, the pictures on the walls near the bottom of the stairs change as well depending on which home we're in at the time.

I love how smart Daniela is. But I wish she insisted on going to the storage shed with the evil Jason to see exactly what he's been hiding. Of course he could never allow that with all those phones and things that have nothing to do with Superposition sciencey stuff. And now she seems to buy his story and I guess is just relieved that Ryan is back. But in the end, I suppose she'll trust her gut. The real question will be whether she ends up with her Jason or Jason#3 (thanks commenters)? Cuz evil Jason's days are numbered. I would be happy if Amanda just stayed in Fusion World with our Ryan (thanks again commenters). But I would like to see at least one of the Leighton's pop back up, just for a lil comic relief cuz this is really gonna be tense next week.

I totally agree with you on all accounts. The three scenes you referenced (Jason1 & Amanda's farewell; Jason1 talking to Daniela on the phone; and Jason1 remembering the first time he met Daniela) were all home-runs. In fact, I wish they would have spread these scenes across several episodes, rather than putting them all in one. Story-wise, I'm still a little confused about "which" Jason was in the gun shop when. My initial thought was that somehow Jason1 had replicated himself when returning to his original world. As the clerk points out, the words he says the second time ("I don't really know how this works.") are exactly the same both times. So, I was wondered if it was a time-warp thing, and the same thing was happening over again. The ending of the second scene--with Jason2 (?) asking where the first Jason went convinced me it wasn't a time-warp. Going forward with both Jason's in the same world (and Jason2 knowing Jason1 has returned) sets up a very interesting 8th and 9th episodes. Also, I'm betting that Amanda-the-Psychiatrist, and Amanda-the-Love Interest will somehow play important roles in the finale. The series HAS to use the fact that Jason1 dropped the two doses of the drug in her bag. Also, Jason2's mean streak, letting the Psychiatrist know that HE knows so much about her, has raised her curiosity about him. Final thought. In one world, Amanda is Dead & that world's Jason is in jail; and in another world she is Missing. What if Jason2 (who has traveled over 100 times) has been killing her off Amanda in different worlds? If so, it would tie-in nicely for Psychiatrist Amanda & Love Interest Amanda being instrumental in bringing him to justice. With the help of Detective Mason--who may be Psychiatrist Amanda's romantic partner, and is in the picture on her office desk. I Can't Hardly Wait.

The second Jason in the gun shop was a variant of good Jason. They are both essentially good Jason. They both have the identical scar on their noses and differ visibly only through the finger brace. I wonder if they will show the backstory for variant Jason...is he the same Jason that we were introduced to in episode 4 when Jason 1 said that there was 'a version of them that didn't make it into the box.'? That Jason didn't have the benefit of learning how to control the box with a partner and probably struggled mightily to make the box work. He didn't have a notebook to write out his thoughts which is why he spoke about Daniela so passionately at the door while Jason 1 sat and wrote out the identical thoughts. My guess is that Jason 1 and variant Jason 1 will have a decision to make regarding who gets the family. My guess is that variant Jason 1 will end up with the family and Jason 1 will seek out Amanda in the progressive world. It is also notable that evil Jason acquired fifty more ampules each for himself and Layton. That may come into play in giving him an ample opportunities to find her.

The scene I can't figure out is the one where he gets out of the car, walks up to the door, is about to open, then turns around and contemplates. Then there's the snap. Was that Jason 1 (our Jason, JasonPrime)? Jason 3? Creator Jason? Cool detail: when he's running home after hugging Matt at the Village Tap, the straps on his bag make the symbol Psi, which is the wave function symbol...or something like that...

You made a mistake at the end. It’s made clearer in the book. But what you seeing in the gun shop are two nearly identical versions of the married Jason. What happens is when Jason embarks on his journey across the multiverse trying to get home he inadvertently creates something like 100,000 almost identical versions of himself due to slightly different decisions made along the way. Hence the small difference like the broken finger. So we should be seeing a very several Jason’s descend on this universe as they all make it “home”.
