We know why box is sinking but where is the ground?

That's a fair question and probably something I should have given my thoughts on in this video. The box schematics show the inner box, the part that holds the pilots is being suspended with 4 struts. Around that box and between the outer layer is empty space. Which was designed to shield the inner chamber from external observation. But it also inadvertently creates a situation where the box can float in water. When they show an aerial shot of the city we see the box floating in the bottom right-ish side of the screen, in the same general location that it manifests in other realities, we can see this location when J2 and Leighton2 are looking at the sunset. So what most likely happened is the ground is below a ton of water in this reality, the box appears and floats, but when the door is opened and the water fills the box it becomes too heavy and sinks. Great ideas! I think that Amanda is *consciously* thwarting Jason 1 because she hasn't taught him any calming techniques. For example, she could teach him how to create a safe space in his mind using visualization and his five senses. Or she could teach him meditation. I mean, that was her whole job! Instead, Jason comes up with his own idea -- writing down his thoughts -- but she's passive and doesn't bring up other techniques. I find that really odd, given that she's supposed to be a highly trained therapist. She's definitely conflicted and attached to him. She doesn't want him to return to his world.

I think that is an interesting take. She could show him techniques to calm him more, but that won't help her being honest with herself. With that said this is a situation where no training is enough lol but point taken! Thanks for the comment! 🕵🏻‍♂️

I almost feel like she is so seemingly good that she has to be in cahoots with jason#2. He is smart enough to know he would eventually figure it out. She is a fail safe for him. He did build the dang thing

I don't think she is working with him, I think she was blindsided by who he really was. Even the reason he gave for going was to help find Blair and because it's his invention he should go. But that was crap, he just wanted to dip, he never looked for Blair and didn't care about leaving her behind But I think she is causing an issue without really knowing it OR she knows that she is stopping them and hoping J¹ will love her too in enough time together.

I think she's kind of guiding him in a way while she is still super codependent. That's ultimately her downfall because she should be her own guide and go towards her most highest timeline, but she stays with Jason because she feels guilty.

wow, lots of great theories in this one! i totally agree amanda is the reason they can never get to jason's reality. it makes a lot of sense. i thought maybe she wasn't born in jason's reality and therefore she couldn't get to it because it wouldn't be an adjacent reality to hers. the peanut alergy and totem thing is actually genius. how do you guys come up with this stuff? i can't wait to confirm these theories!!

I was thinking the EXACT same thing. Jason 2 explicitly mentions that you don't have access to the full breadth of the multiverse, just parallel worlds where you have existed / do exist in. So, if Amanda doesn't exist in Jason 1's world, maybe she's the reason they can't go there. There are some differences from the book from what I've been told, so I wouldn't rely too much on how that version goes. I hope Jason2 doesn't accidentally kill Charlie with peanuts.

Yeah, I knew this the moment they entered the Prisoner World in Episode 5 wherein Amanda has died in that reality. Right after they exited the Virus World, Amanda's sub conscious automatically thought that she probably died, hence why in the Prisoner world, she really died. But for Jason, i'm just not sure on what triggered him to think about being in prison which he was in that 3rd world. Maybe it was the "Absent Father" that Amanda mentioned or maybe because he felt like he left his family in that Virus world and he was away which caused his family to die from the Virus which triggered the sub conscious to think about the Prisoner world. I'm excited on how they'll figure it out and how will the fake Jason seal that box.

It's so interesting to see how the show captures the fact that our subconscious thoughts tend to naturally be bad. Every world that Jason and Amanda have come across has been bad. They haven't stumbled on one good world yet

You’ve discussed a lot of great ideas and directions here. What a fantastic show. Apple really is the best streaming service if you ask me. I believe that they’ve set up the fact that interaction with someone with knowledge of how to travel the box will help each person individually moving forward. Jason 2 has shown Leighton 2 how to travel and now Blair is helping Amanda. I believe Amanda and Jason 1 will need to detach and that Amanda will get back to her home world. Blair may help her and actually go with. Believe it or not I think Leighton 1 will end up being the one who helps Jason 1 get back. And yes I agree that Jason’s wife will figure it out and mess up Jason 2’s plans

Here's what I don't understand. If the box exists physically in every universe, then when they come out of it in various universes where it's not in some warehouse but OUTSIDE, couldn't anyone out there see it? Does it magically appear there only when they open a door? So far, when they've stepped out of it and it's outdoors, they've gotten lucky in that no one was around. I mean, there were horrific conditions like what looked like another freaking Ice Age, the ocean flooding the city etc. But one of these times, they might step out into a universe where the box is outside and people are walking around, and how are these people going to react? I really like your analysis BTW and it makes total sense that Amanda's subconscious desire to have this Jason for herself is what's standing in the way.

Great question! Not every universe has that warehouse. In some it's the lab inside Velocity, in others nothing was developed there. Even in the water scene The Box is floating in the same general location until they open the door and it sinks. Yes people can see it, it's a physical thing in that universe. I have a bridge metaphor in our Ep4 Deep Dive. But even if people can see it and go on it, without the drug that puts your Prefrontal cortex in sleep mode the box is just a quiet place, it would allow for travel. I agree. The concerns Blair2 shared with Amanda2 were spot on knowing Amanda2 past relationship with Jason2. She was detecting the growing attachment to Jason1. Jason1 might have to wait for Amanda2 to be asleep (assuming she does not dream) and then try the door to see the result with his own thoughts. The super wasps are a scary thought but I guess as they might not have a prefrontal cortex that is as developed as ours so they can enter superposition with a box pilot, observe the box pilot without separating the pilot from superposition and then follow the pilot out of superposition into other worlds. It makes you wonder if they were bio engineered for this specific goal. The bio engineers could then come through (assuming they can navigate to where the wasps escaped) the box with a weapon that can quickly neutralise the wasps leaving the engineers with a potentially barren Earth to expand into or extract resources from. The sinking box shows that the box can still rejoin superposition even if it changes position on an Earth.

I don't think J² cares about anyone other than himself, is he a textbook narcissist 🤣. He likes the idea of a family with Daniella, but in reality he wants freedom to do whatever he wants. Well, we know J2 wants the idea of this version of Daniella, but his actions to change their life lead us to believe that he may eventually become less excited about the reality of it. While Amanda hasn't really admitted to herself that she has these feelings for J1, which is why her subconscious is causing them to miss the mark. As long as they travel as a pair and their minds or intentions aren't really in sync then they will keep going to mixed versions of reality.

One other thing, I was confused by the dead giant wasp part and how it shows that the drug isn't necessarily required to travel between realities. I thought it was always necessary and facilitates the travel for a certain period of time.

Sure. We can assume that the drug exists in that Blairs reality. But the wasps coming though obviously without being given the drug show us that living things without a sufficiently developed prefrontal cortex do not need the drug.

That freeway Jason2 and Leighton1 arrived on could have been an issue if a vehicle crashed into the box and damaged it. Although the box looks very robust it makes me wonder if a pilot can make it back to superposition should the box become damaged in anyway.

After jason 2 entered the jason 1 world after replacing him, the multiverse is still splitting according to jason 2 decisions in jason 1 world. So jason 1 can collapse into a world where jason 2 somehow died in jason 1 world. And they both can live their lives happily.

FACTS, Jason A mentioned loving peanut M&M's but not being able to keep them in the house cause of Charlies Allergy, I think THAT specific detail is significant too IMO Imagine, Jaye (jasonB) brings home Peanut M&M's and almost killing Charlie because of it.... Daniela goes nah mf final straw, you're not Jason.. Which leads Jason B to either flee that world or doing something to Jason A's Family because of his do or die survival instincts. I mean look at what LEIGHTON B did, killed or "disappeared" Daniela followed by Ryan ALL because of what they MIGHT know. Leighton B even said "because I KNOW what you're capable of" to JASON A, which are THE EXACT WORDS Jason B used to describe what he knew about Leighton A when he introduced him to the box and Leighton goes "why me"...He says "because I can trust you, because I KNOW what you're capable of". Jason B even wants to SEAL the World A box, but that could lead to it's own issues... WHAT IF LEIGHTON B reappears with Jason A & Amanda, which COULD lead them to teaming up and FINDING a way to Jason B out of mutual interest. I mean it's not like Jason A is the one who screwed around with Leighton B's invested billions, think about it now.. He ditched Leighton ALL for his own ambitions & the proof is Jason B GOING BACK TO GET MORE AMPULES!, sounds like betrayal to me.. I'm surprised Leighton A hasn't clued into that.. Man, it makes me want to read the book i'm so interested.... BRB looking for a copy online 😁😁😭😭

I think anything that doesn't have a sufficient level of self awareness. The giant wasps made it though without the drug & the corridor was still wet after the water 🌊 scene. I think only complex sentient beings require the drug to dull their awareness. The things you mentioned are why Leighton 1 & 2 are dangerous 👍🏻

Good question! The Box works more like a bridge than a car, in the sense that when you build a bridge between two places, the bridge remains after you leave and go back across it. However, your car would no longer be there once you leave, and it would come back with you. But keep in mind that without the drug to put your prefrontal cortex on rest mode they are essentially just quiet rooms. Hope that helps! And thanks for taking the time to watch and comment! 🕵

Good question 👍🏻 When he drugs him he seeds his mind with a scenario. Puts him in the box & we assume the drug wore off after a few hours and he ended up in J2 reality. We see something like this happen in Ep5 when they talk about Blair, they fall asleep and wake up in her reality. The issue with this is he could have gone to any similar reality by chance, so there is most likely more to it.
