Yeah you'll probably wanna change the default COLORS (in that same section) for underdefined and fully defined sketches :-)

I encounter this problem a while back when I made the switch to black. But Toby, I must confess, I'm not a the pro SW user you are. I have not use yet everything SW has to offer, therefore I cannot come up with a "dark theme style". I think someone like you, who knows the software in every possible scenario can give it a try on a style (a display config) that could be loaded in later on. by all of us. I think it could be really valuable contribution to the community specially coming from you.

Great tip, thanks! I have a problem and I would really appreaciate any help: Our company uses a 5-digit code for naming files. Now I have manually clicked on the tree display "show component descriptions" in order to get the descriptive name of the file to appear in the assemblies. Can you tell me if this can be changed by default from some setting so that "show component descriptions" is also selected by default? Now I have manually gone through the assemblies one by one and saved. Quite tedious.Thanks!

Glad this was helpful. I think that setting (display of the tree) is a TEMPLATE SETTING. So you have to change it once, save a template, and then all future documents will use this setting. However, all existing documents will need to be manually changed to update this setting. Blah - no fun I know! I love dark mode, but I don't get the nice dark grey lines between the icons and the other parts of the UI like you get, mine are white and it doesn't look so good. Is there a setting to change that, or is it just on 2024, I am using 2023...

If I use a dark color for the top gradient side, it affects the minimize, maximize, and close icons inside the SolidWorks window.

yeah you still might have to make some additional tweaks. Maybe dont go FULL BLACK for the gradient color, but instead use a darker grey or darker blue or purple

lol - you could try running in USE SOFTWARE OPEN GL MODE for a bit - see if the instabilities continue. IF they do, its probably not your graphics card, and I would try a fresh build of the SW registry. If they do NOT, then it is your graphics card, and (if its supported) I would consider trying a different driver as shown in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gHSwZZxoj7Vnn5Ysi=N0phw4okAEuj-GXb Hope this helps!

It is ridiculous that such software does not have a configuration for full dark mode right from the start.... Because after all, our eyes and also the hardware (in this case the monitor) don't get tired/broken from such bright colours.... Thanks for quick hint for noobie.
