Completely new to me. Important to know, this movie goes back to 1944. I have to admit the only name of the cast that rang a nice sounding bell was Elisha Cook jr. But I have an excuse, I'm from Belgium and was "only" born in 1966. The Imdb rating by some 300 viewers is 5,4. Meaning, it isn't a catastrophically bad one, but neither a gem. It has its charm as most old time movies seem to have. Although it's a crime movie and hence dealing with crime, it shows us how different the world was back then, and somehow, without having witnessed that world, it makes me somewhat "nostalgic", when comparing it to our rapidly digitalizing world. Although people didn't have KZbin in those years :) Thanks for the upload !

The IMDb rating could be colored too by millenials who only appreciate a movie proportionnally to the weight of filth, visual&audio, it conveys. Nevertheless, I am really surprised 😲 at some recent productions like : « Christmas Carole » With the very likeable Surane Jones. A heartwarming new tackle on an immortal story !
