Personally I didn't hate it but the character ark for mystique is always baffling to me especially with this movie. Not just her attitude,but never made sense how she was ok with average humans seeing her blue form but wasn't ok with her fellow mutants seeing her that way when they got back from the space mission??? Plus beast going the way he did was a little nuts to, considering him and raven hardly had a thing and he's going hard like they actually had something when he ruined any of that in the first class.

What I like the most about the X-Men movies is the fact that they never tried to follow the MCU's formula or its tropes, especially after it became a trend They never relied on nostalgia, the tone always kept consistent, and they always focused on the present And Dark Phoenix kept that way They kept their sense of individuality. Even the score was different in each movie

all the xmen films are an insult to the fans, kelsey grammer as beast and jean luc as prof were the only roles even remotely well cast, wolverine is about 5 foot 3 in the comics and the theme of wolverine is "dwarf jokes", his signature move is allowing a member of his team with superstrenth to throw him at the enemy(dwarf tossing), he has no super strength, and they cast a lean and tall, over 6 foot hugh jackman to play him, might as well have just done a race and gender swap on him too, smh,

The movie isn't an adaptation of the Dark Phoenix Saga. It's an adaptation of Jean/Phoenix's origin story and the Hellfire Club arc. It was suppose to be the first film of a Dark Phoenix Saga/Inferno trilogy.

They got everything wrong in Dark Phoenix! The phoenix force is supposed to be a primordial entity that possesses those with supernatural powers! Jean Grey was exposed to the Phoenix force when the X Men went into space! Jean would later be found and brainwashed by the Hellfire Club, a club of mutant inspired by chess pieces and later become the Dark Phoenix! And also where the hell are the alien race The Shi’ar? The bird humans with feathers for hair? And what about their alien superhero enforcers The Imperial Guard? Where were they? Dark Phoenix was supposed to be fighting and destroying the planets, the Shi’ar and the Imperial Guard were supposed to abduct and fight the X-Men and also fight over the M’Kraan Crystal, the ruby that created the universe! And the main villain is D’Kan evil king of the Shi’ar! And Jessica Chastain is supposed to be D’Kan’s sister princess Lilandra, not Vuk!
