Hate leads to pain, pain leads to suffering. All of it has been perfectly captured into the song. Well done, it's beautiful.

I absolutely love have this piece shows the difference between loud hate, and quiet hate. It shows raw emotion. And then the after math of all that hate. And it's just amazing

Such a beautiful piece, a piece that does not just resonate with emotion, but creates the feeling of it's ever growing existence. The song radiates the feeling of a dormant, primal feeling within all life itself, an emotion that all can feel but not all can handle, so what would this song represent: the controller or the controlled? It only lies within you... The answer.

This song is my very favorite one from Lucas King. It is so simple, with easy notes. You don't need to play ultra fast or complicated to touch people's heart. I'm much downloading this tutorial, because someday I know I'll learn this as my first piano song. One day. This masterpiece will never get old to me.

Not a bad piece, but the name "Hate" is almost wasted on this piece. The whole song feels like the lament of a dying man, reflecting on his life of hatred, but lacks the explosiveness that I would connote with pure 'hate'. I'm no composer myself, but I'd say the best way of truly embodying the title would be to mix the lighter, softer atmosphere with sudden violence and dissonance. Hatred should be uncontrollable, recessed yet obvious, and I personally don't think this expresses that with it's lack of heavy dynamics. That being said, non of this detracts from the actual composition which, as I mentioned before, is quite well done.

Well, as hatred is an abstract substantive, it gains many definitions and interpretations as years go by, but of course, around the same "center". So, instead of an explosive hatred that would be represented by anger and violence, I think the composer tried to show the hatred that "lurks" in the heart of someone and, slowly, it devours the person's "anima". Instead of being violent all the time, it brings resentful feelings that keep growing stronger, thus forming a "true" (long-lasting) hate that afterwards may be uncontrollable; lead to insanity, or even bring despair, because there are many times that there's nothing one can do to the "cause" of the hatred, especially when clouded with negative feelings. Well, just my opinion :P .

Hey Lucas I just recently started playing the piano and I wonder how long it took you to be able top compose music yourself. And what do you suggest I start focusing on as a beginner (aside form reading notes)? I wanna be really efficient when learning the piano, so I dont waste any valuable time. I love your music and I am trying to learn your compositions by watching the synthesias. Is that considered unnecessary or do you think it helps being better at the piano? Any answers would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance. ^^
@LucasKingPiano
@LucasKingPiano 7 жыл бұрын
Good solid advice from Stephen. Learning pieces above your level will improve your playing without a doubt, that's exactly what I did. I wrote a piece when I was 17 but aside from that one piece I didn't start composing until I was 20 (so it took me 3 of piano before I started composing). As a beginner I focused on learning pieces I found difficult and that I really *wanted* to learn. Try not to worry yourself about wasting time. Just stay interested and keep practicing, this is a marathon not a sprint there's no rush =) So yes, keep learning these pieces through the synthesia videos, if you feel like you're being challenged by them then you're definitely improving. Glad you like my music! =D

Stephen Moynahan Hey! Starting by answering a few of your questions: I am ready to spend all my holidays solely on Piano if possible, that much dedication exists. I find playing really fun and challenging. As for what kind if music I want to learn, that would be sad pieces for sure. And about the songs you first learned (Skyrim etc), did you learn them by reading notes or by synthesia? And one more question is: Is learning songs by reading notes more effective than synthesia or doesn't it make a lot of difference? Thank you very much for the generous advice by the way, really appreciate it man. :)

The rain poured down as I kicked a rock down the street. he would be there, he always is there. he thinks that he knew what I've been through. I take out the number that he gave me and examine it right before I rip the paper into shreds. I would have killed him if it were not for the vow that I gave my mom right before her demise on the field of battle. "you fought well, Olivia, my only daughter." "mom...please don't leave me" "I will be with you for the...the re...rest of you life" I still remember her hands, ice cold, begin to weaken. "just...just promise me one thing." I nod in agreement. "in whatever the situation, don't take the life of another as they have done to me..." that was two years ago. I have grown. I will do what it take to end this horrible game we are forced to play day after day, year after year, generation after generation. this war will end or I will die in the process. I hate war.

Every time I listen to this song, it's always the same scen playing infront of me. Someone who is filled with emotional hate, they are crying from frustration, from loosing that special someone. You can really feel the emotion they are screaming one word after the other, but as the music goes over to the calmer parts so can you see how the tears stop and they quiet down as their head falls down and looks on the ground. Their cheeks once again dry again they look up, like a shadow covers their eyes, you can feel how they are to calm compared to how they just acted. They grab a sharp object and start walking out of the door, as you scream after them to wait, to stop before it's to late, but they don't seem to hear you as they disappear into the dark. They arrive at the door of that one person. They walk into the house and seeks out the bedroom, where that one person is. As the music once again builds up they open the door and walks towards the bed, they look down on the sleeping body and raise their hand and then let it fall towards the person, showing the sharp object into the persons heart, and as the music once again goes slower a tear runs down their cheek, they collapse on the floor blood on their hands and the scen fades away...

It's been two years since a part of me has disappeared to nowhere. I still remember all those fake faces, fake lies, tears. "You won't have to worry about all those liars anymore. I shall protect you, my family, with everything i have." They looked at me, crying. I saw the look in my mother's eyes, lost, hopeless, sad.. My sister was near her, not knowing what to do, due to her young age. For the first time i felt discouraged, weak.. So i decided to gather courage, for those who i loved the most. I shall protect you and everything we have had, which sadly cannot return the way it was.. (This is my first story, based on my personal experience, hope you like it! P.s. i am Italian, sorry for the grammar mistakes! ❤)

This sounds really nice. It reminds me of Lex Luthor's theme from Batman v Superman.

It's a great piece as usual, but except for the bass towards the beginning and end (the octaves), I don't really know if "hate" is the best title for this one. That's just me though. Everyone feels different - albeit usually similar - emotions with music. That's part of what makes it an art.

Lucas King Well, again, the beginning and end parts sound like "hate" but the middle, quieter part sound more like "regret", which I suppose is kind of similar, like a sort of "self-hate".

Oh Delicious pain The most joyous sensation imaginable Cutting, burning, raking, Oh the bliss Bleeding, tearing, scalding, Sweet agony Succumbing to the Demon, Surrender to his kiss The world is ours, We own the world Let anarchy and evil reign This is what we were born for The prize is Oh sweet pain - This night is made for all of us To hide, to watch, to seek To taste the flesh and drink the life To dance and sing amid the strife To whisper sweet, the hidden knife A sacrifice so meek - We are a clan bound by spells The white stars shine for us The moon and fire, the creatures dance Magic potions all enhance Natures music and perchance The night will fill with lust - Lust and blood to sate the soul And bring our minds to peace Away with foolish Angels dire We’ll revel round the Demons fire Leave the mortals in Gods mire O time to join the feast - The young will come to dance with us The innocent to learn The magic and the charm of night We feast their vibrant spirits bright Fire, water, salt, the blood The time for trances deep draws near To choose and reap the flood.
