Warlords of Draenor turned 10 years old only a few weeks ago. For those who played it when it was current like myself, you will remember the unparalleled beauty of its zones, mystical and ethereal soundtrack and best quest experience ever brought by an expansion at launch. This could have been the GREATEST expansion, if it had been finished. To this day we mourn the loss of content like Farahlon, the Ogre Continent and Island, along with many questlines. This is a tribute to the spectacle that it was, and the masterpiece it could have been!

To this day I don't understand why Blizzard doesn't make an animated series instead of that movie, it really would be a gold mine telling the story of WoW like the cinematics. A dream.

Not really. The cinematics are „awesome” but in reality full of lackluster dialogue and cliches. It works for doing short videos but would not handle longer dialogues and believable character development.

I may be a small part of a group who says this but to me, Warlords was and to this day was my favorite expasion. I personally enjoyed it from start to finish and i was sad to leave it behind!

It has the best zones, art & design, mystifying music and long with the best questing experince every brought by an expansion at launch. As grateful as I am for how exceptional *Legion* was, I have always had a soft-spot for WoD. It's still one of my favorite xPacs & I often level through it with new toons. The 'Frazetta/Howard' fiction of Draenor does it for me. The stark beauty of the zones, the feeling of Wild places in the liminal outskirts of them, the achingly beautiful music... I just love it. I really wish it would've had all the resources to completely finish it. *LOK'TAR!*

I don't mean pausing to enjoy the vista & atmosphere while herb/ore farming, or fishing for a few min & soaking in the scene. I mean 'STOP playing, & just listening.' & there's so much of that in WoD. The first time you rode out of the Horde Garrison & gaze out on the Magnificent Desolation kzbin.info/www/bejne/gondkGydmJaDbM0 The art dept. really just crushed it with this one. MAN do I want the game to go back to being about a gorgeous atmosphere, but more & more, the 'World' of Warcraft is made a vestigial thing, dangling from the edge of an instance portal.

It was really stupid for Grommash to be the main antagonist but all of a sudden, since Guldan takes control, he is suddenly an ally to the two factions even though he was leading the invasion. It's so stupid.

@@arthursebastiany7311 Sure - but not in the way its presented in the game. Yesterday enemies do not suddenly become best friends - there's gotta be tension there, anger, disgust, e.t.c. WoD just had poor writing, because devs decided to drop it and focus on Legion.

@@eltarn5375 Precisely. Leading up to WoD, Blizzard had publicly stated that they were trying to get the development cycle of expansions down to one per year. WoD was the final casualty of that _dumbass_ plan - it was such a disaster that they abandoned the effort entirely.

A lot of the mid tier content was scrapped, which would have made the expansion a masterpiece. Farahlon, Ogre Continent & Island, Kargath surviving Highmaul, many questlines like the Worgen plague, etc. The train in gorgrond, the flora there are even assets that were meant for Farahlon, since Gorgrond is mostly a desert.

@@Athelarius It won't last, the writers can't help themselves. They'll shoehorn in some reason that the Horde will do something stupid and evil again and the Alliance will have to fight them, then in the end they'll band together against some new threat. Rinse and repeat. That and making sure our characters have their hands welded to the idiot ball is the only kind of storytelling they know. It's worked more or less for 20 years now but it's getting kinda old

You're right. WoD could've been so fucking good, and the opening of it was PEAK warcraft. I dearly hope that if Blizz do WoD classic, that they'll treat it as a 2nd chance to do WoD correctly and give it some deserved justice and release it as it was intended.

Yes, here have some changes like: Velen of this timeline sacrifices himself and give the leadership of Draenei to Yrel, Orgrim Doomhamer faces Blackhand but dies like a trash, Teron'Gor never turned into Teron Gorefield, Karabor never turned into Black Temple but Iron Horde attacks Shattrath, and Durotan & Draka had Geya'Rah instead of Thrall

We’re long overdue for a retconned explanation for Wod’s alt universe. It was a beautiful world, just a poorly executed storyline and endgame. We lost Maraad for nothing if we never see Draenor again.
