I’m a Sikh who’s extremely anti Khalistan. I think the best way to fix the Khalistan issue is to make an effort to hold the people behind 1984 Sikh genocide responsible. Sikhs still haven’t got Justice for that and there’s a wound in the heart of Sikhs which these khalistani elements take advantage of and cause divide. Hindus killed in punjab at the time of khalistan movemnt is no less than sikh casulaties to curb it. Why no one talk about that? Why always so much noise about justice for Sikhs. I am an Indian first and foremost. I also happen to be a Punjabi Hindu. I have no connections with these people. These people are trying to make the 'Punjabi' identity synonymous with Jatt Sikh Khalistanis. In their effort to supposedly 'save' Punjab, they have further divided and made Punjab and the Punjabi identity weaker and narrower. It's a self goal. I think for someone who hasn't been brought up in a Panjabi Sikh family it is hard to understand where their deep support or their roots for a sovereign state comes from. The problem is way deeper rooted. It's not about any singer who is supporting Khalistan. Its roots start in the fundamental differences, which is that Sikhs have as much in common with Hindus as much they have with muslims. Basically nothing. It's a separate religion with its own unique identity. That's where it already starts. To be precise -> with partition. If Sikhs would have gotten their own state as a separate religion and identity we wouldn't be here. Fundamentally different, culturally different and moreover religiously completely different. India has failed Sikhs big time, and they bought Sikh identities to go against their own people. The true aim of India is a nationalist state with Hindus, called Hindustan. Would Hindus ever be okay living in a country called Sikhistan or Muslimstan instead of Hindustan? I don't think so. Sikhs are prideful to the nation India/Hindustan and have been at every step of their life possible, like for almost 500 years, since the birth of Sikhi. We remember our Guru having attained shaheedi for this country. Haven't you ever asked yourself why would such loyal people engage in this affairs if literally our Guru gave his life, his head to protect Hindu pandits from Aurangzeb. Sikhs wouldn't even had complained 1% if they were living in a nation called Hindustan. But with one request, that Hindus accept Sikhs as a separate identity. But the truth is majority of you guys still believe Sikhi is just a sect of hinduism. This is already a really foolish misconception at its own. From partition, to 1984, to anti-Sikh massacres and riots where Sikhs were killed in every street, burnt alive. (Many hindus helped Sikhs in the riots as well. Thank you to every hindu who has helped and stands with Sikhs against injustice.) From slaughter, to raping women to change the Sikh genetical make up, to countless shaheedia, and looting Punjab's Resources for the benefit of Hindustan, to causing Drug epidemic in Punjab...... to the present day. Why would that happen to a folk who would be seen as equal or same, unless the feeling of a difference has been there since the beginning? And the list is veryyyyyy long. It has been going on for a decade almost. And you think the demand of Khalistan itself is a problem? Sikhs want justice for the family members, fathers and big brothers the state of India has misplaced in form of 50.000 Sikhs and upwards. Everyone who speaks out against it is being murdered and labeled as Khalistan -> Jaswant Singh Khalra. We did not even get a genuine sorry or redeem for the Things the state has done to us. But even a sorry isn't enough anymore. Almost every Sikh family has lost a member to this. Even if we do not want Khalistan we want to be free, and not be labeled as second class citizens or a sect of Hinduism. Because we Sikhs matter as much as you do. We are not against India and never have been. We just want justice for Sikh blood which has been shed by the state of India. It has nothing to do with casts, it's a whole different problem and field which I'm not gonna dive into. Punjabi singers are just being the voice of the majority. Educate the Indian youth about the other side as well before forming an opinion. I do understand some of your points but keep in mind and consider the other side as well, you seem educated enough to know an ideology doesn't harvest over night. I claim to say that you have a very subjectively Anti-Punjabi opinion as long as it doesn't support your nationalism.
