Very much so 👍, and I actually plan to get around to them in the future, but I did jump over them as they are not quite on the same level of dominant and powerful as the Ottomans, Safavids and Mughals. Also their rise to prominence is rather different and would require an entire video separately for them, as they are good example of a very different pattern of development that happened in the greater maghrib region in comparison to the mashriq and other areas of the Islamic world.

The Japanese and Koreans were also gunpowder "empires" - granted, gunpowder shogunate and kingdom - via the infamous use of the arquebus.

@@thehistoriographerArguably the entire era around this time was "adopt gunpowder or die" which often resulted in various forms of structures that could be called empires, but I would still say that the introduction of gunpowder had its biggest political ramifications in the Islamic world in regards to how it led to centralization and restructuring of political authority. Though this might just be a bit of a bias on my part considering that this is into my area of preferred history to focus upon.
