I see jewelry pages with 500k followers, and their posts have tops like 20 comments, with 5k likes. They get about 200 sales a day which is huge. I think it all comes down to the conversion rate

AH! I'm so sorry! You could go back to your giveaway post and remove followers who followed you from that post (that aren't engaging). It might help your engagement numbers go back up.

I think the key is to make sure you not going after a broad audience and not give out anything tooooo crazy, like a trip to Disney :) :)... I am new to it, so I am just guessing.

I have to say that you're 100% right, I started off last year a new account doing a giveaway and only attracted literally "product testers" it was crazy the amount of people that would contact me wanting to "test" my jewelry for free(if that would have only been the case for actual costumers😪), long story short, i couldn't recover from this and had no idea what I was doing,.... I recently had to open up a new business account, from scratch, zero followers, all over again. I am sad, because of the whole year I invested but at the same time happy that I don't have to have these fake followers that don't care at all about my content and that only want stuff for free

Morgan, thanks for sharing this info. I was told several times this year to do a giveaway. I am glad I looked at this because it made me think about the purpose. My original purpose was to gain followers. But, like you said, more followers does not equal more sales. And I would like more sales. This is definitely food for thought. Oh, and I had to take a good look at my giveaway item too. It's nice, but not FABULOUS. I have a lot to think about after you video. Many thanks!

A free manicure or pedicure. Or if you really want to get some buzz for your giveaway, free pedicures for a year (something like one per month). I've seen aestheticians do that and people go crazy for it!

On Instagram a travel giveaway account called gifting adventures said I won a $20k vacation to Tahiti. They asked for credit card information to make an account. Soon as I heard that I declined. Any suggestions or thoughts? Sounds to good to be true.

You made the right decision! It is too good to be true. The biggest thing scammers do right now is pick winners and then request CC info. This is a NO GO. Run away FAST!
